It’s a pretty, simple perfume. The pineapple, musk, and a very soft coconut give a creamy, summery feel. A piña colada on the beach, sunscreen… that’s what it evokes. Longevity is just barely enough for my taste.
It’s not for me. And it’s a shame, because I loved its two sisters. It’s true that the glitter is a fantasy, abundant and stays on the skin for hours, and once dry it leaves a very pleasant smell. But in my case, the opening and the pineapple heart (I don’t smell the coconut anywhere) are among the most unpleasant I’ve ever tried. The smell becomes absurdly acidic, with hints even of urine. It’s disgusting. When the urge to go to the bathroom to throw up even the first porridge my mother made me passes, surprisingly a sweet smell remains without any acidic traces. But of course, the end result isn’t worth it if I have to go through the bathroom every time I wear it.
I was able to try the three perfumes from Mugler’s Starlicious collection, and this pineapple one would be the second one I liked the most. It has a cheerful, sweet, and fruity scent, but also very youthful, to the point that I see it more aimed at a teenage audience. The problem is that, just like with the rest of the collection, I don’t find anything especially distinctive about it. It reminds me of many other similar perfumes already on the market, so it doesn’t manage to surprise me or leave a lasting impression. After trying all three, I confirm a feeling I’ve been having for a while: Mugler doesn’t represent me as a brand. Their proposals don’t quite connect with me, and at the moment, I haven’t found any of their perfumes that I truly love.
