Trussardi’s Sound of Donna is volatile: a potent floral-fruity opening that by the hour turns heavy with whipped cream. The only flaw is that the dry down smells a bit soapy. No rubbery fruits here; just green almonds, chestnuts, and mandarin give a fresh, gourmand dry down. The bottle is pretty, fuchsia with purple waves, musical like the campaign with Annalisa. It represents the chicest Trussardi girl, ideal for a spring afternoon in Milan with an Italian boyfriend.
Opening similar to Poison Girl EDP: sweet hazelnut, a bit cloying. Fixation and sillage are good. Solid performance. The neroli note stands out in the dry down, wrapped in that dessert-like touch that Sound of Donna has.
A different gourmand that doesn’t cloy, at a good price. Lasts over 8 hours with moderate sillage. Citric and almond opening, then chestnuts appear, reminiscent of This Is Her. It’s softer than my favorite but with the same warmth. On skin, it leaves a whipped cream trail. 8/10 scent, 8/10 longevity, 7/10 sillage, 8/10 value. Yes, I’d buy it again.
Sound of Donna is a distinct gourmand that’s rich without being cloying, and it’s a great value. The longevity is excellent (over 8 hours on my skin) with a moderate sillage. It opens with citrus and almond, then transitions into chestnut, which reminds me of Zadig & Voltaire’s This Is Her. I think it’s perfect for people who find This Is Her too intense; it’s softer and sweeter but keeps the same warmth. As it settles, what remains on the skin is predominantly whipped cream. Scent 8/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7/10 Value 8/10 Versatility 8/10 Packaging 8/10 Would I buy again? Yes.
I was looking for a This Is Her from Zadig & Voltaire, but Sound of Donna smells more like Club Nuit by Armaf, though with sweeter notes, likely due to the whipped cream. Lasts about 5 hours (longer on clothes). I’d buy it again. Super recommended for high-level gourmand lovers.
I bought this thinking it would smell like my all-time favorite, Zadig & Voltaire’s This Is Her, which is so hard to find in Chile. When Sound of Donna arrived, I was surprised—it’s delicious but quite different from my true love. On me, it smells exactly like Armaf’s Club de Nuit Intense Man, which I also adore, except this one is sweeter, probably due to the whipped cream notes. It lasts about 5 hours on my skin and a bit longer on clothes. I would definitely buy it again. Highly recommended for anyone who loves top-tier gourmand scents.
Wow, what a marvel!! I had my doubts and bought it blind, but it’s spectacular. It reminds me of Azzaro Wanted Girl, Poison Girl (the opening), and This Is Her. The perfume itself, the longevity, the sillage, and the price are all fantastic!!
What a marvel! I bought it blind and it’s spectacular. It reminds me of Wanted Girl, Poison Girl, and This Is Her. Fantastic perfume with great longevity, sillage, and price.
This perfume changes with the temperature. In summer, it becomes dense and patchouli-heavy; on fresh days, it’s almond-y, milky, and super cozy. To get the most out of it, wear it in autumn or winter. I don’t recommend it in summer; it has the vibe of Poison Girl and This Is Her.
I bought it at a good price for autumn/winter and nailed it. It’s sweet and warm, perfect for the cold. I loved the chestnut note. Now it’s summer, so I’ve put it away. Edit: climate change has brought hot winters to my country. I tried wearing it with a bit of cold, but it overwhelmed me, so I returned it.
I’m truly impressed. It’s an intense sweet scent that is at the same time delicate and elegant. What was going to be my secondary fragrance has now become my main one. I love it!! 🤗 ❤️ Edit: After tripling my collection, it remains one of my favorites, and the longer my bottle ages, the better it smells. The depth of this sweetness is so well-crafted that it makes me close my eyes and feel teleported to a green forest beside a river where the sun and breeze caress my face, or a walk on a paradise island with white sandy beaches, or a romantic dinner, just as much as a summer party where everyone is dressed in white, smiling, and glowing from a well-deserved vacation. That’s how this perfume makes me feel—all these things at once. It’s magical for me, with great longevity (especially on clothes) and good sillage. Excellent quality and price. 10/10.
I was impressed: intensely sweet yet delicate and elegant. It went from a secondary favorite to my absolute favorite. Edit: even though it tripled my collection, I still love it, and the older the bottle, the better it smells. It transports me to a sunlit forest by a river, a paradisiacal island, or romantic dinners and summer parties. It’s magical. Good longevity (especially on clothes) and value for money. 10/10
I saved it for winter, and with the rain came, it was spectacular. Smells like cream with nuts—a gourmand that doesn’t cloy. Lasts 8 hours on skin; in warm weather, the patchouli stands out more, but in the cold, it becomes super creamy, almost with tonka bean notes. Gives me a cozy sweater vibe. If you’re looking for whipped cream, don’t hesitate. 10/10
Exquisite! This is a pure gourmand where whipped cream shines, blended with chestnuts, almonds, and vanilla. It reminds me of Girl of Now (just less intense) or Poison Girl, making it a great alternative since those others are pricey. Lasts 6 to 8 hours with moderate sillage. Perfect for autumn and winter. 100% recommended!
Exquisite!!!! A totally gourmand perfume that puts whipped cream at its absolute peak, alongside chestnuts, almonds, and vanilla, even though Fragrantica doesn’t list the vanilla… It looks very similar to Girl of Now (just less intense), Poison Girl, BonBon de Victoria’s Secret, and the Juicy Couture perfumes… A great alternative since the previously mentioned perfumes are expensive in many countries… Longevity is very good, around 6 to 8 hours, with moderate sillage… Ideal for autumn and winter… 100% recommended.
I bought it because I found it at an incredible price during my last trip to the Canary Islands. It’s not unique, not very complex, and doesn’t have a dazzling evolution… on the contrary, the scent is simple and fairly linear, yet I still like it. I’d categorize it as floral-fruit-gourmand. It opens very fruity with a sweet mandarin, nothing acidic. Shortly after, within two minutes, the florals emerge, highlighting heliotrope, one of my favorite flowers. As it dries, it becomes creamier and milky, simulating a sweet dessert. In this phase, it reminds me a bit of This Is Her. The patchouli doesn’t stand out on my skin and I barely smell it; I do notice some woody creaminess from the sandalwood, but it’s not the star. I see it as feminine and versatile. It’s sweet but not heavy, clearly noticeable without being a beast mode, so it works for many occasions and months. I think it shines in moderate temperatures (cold dulls it a bit, and extreme heat makes it heavy). Performance is quite good in longevity and projection, especially considering the price. In summary, it’s not a groundbreaking proposal; there are many with a similar vibe. But I like it because it’s an uncomplicated scent, a light gourmand, very wearable for daily use. And the current price makes it worth it.
I adore it; if you like gourmands, you can’t go wrong. It’s sweet, soft, and fresh: sweet mandarin and magnolia at the start, then whipped cream, chestnut, and sandalwood as it dries. Marvelous! It’s perfect for sunny but fresh spring mornings, though if you over-spray, it can get heavy.
No need to brag, I own many perfumes, but this one plays beautifully on my skin; I simply adore it. The base is rich, and I clearly detect the smell of chestnuts wrapped in cream. This house has wonderful perfumes.
I love it! Smells like almonds with cream, absolutely delicious, impossible not to like. It’s a cousin of Girl of Now, 98% similar, and 95% like Biografía Asignatura. All three are beautiful. Of course, you have to really like sweetness and almonds. You can smell the almond, chestnut, and whipped cream from start to finish. Lasts 8 hours, ideal for autumn and winter. Highly recommended!
Perfect for showcasing the whipped cream note. Almonds and cream are supported by flowers that balance that intense sweetness. The opening is pleasant due to the fresh floral touch, but it ends smelling like pure cream. It’s made for whipped cream lovers (Tamara would absolutely adore Tamarita’s creations 😉 sweet, creamy, and very gourmand. Like a cream cake decorated with flowers.
It does indeed remind me of Poison Girl, but they’re very different. It smells clean and creamy thanks to the whipped cream base and almond, though the latter sounds a bit synthetic and dry. I didn’t expect so much lactonic vibe from the sandalwood, but it balances well with the cleanliness. It has moderate sweetness and, for the price, it’s a great deal with average quality. If you like clean, creamy almond, start here.
I had my expectations through the roof, thinking it would be an exquisite gourmand, but nope. The store sample seemed dusty and the scent… hmm, I don’t know what happened. It reminds me of someone much older. Anyway…
I was blown away; I hadn’t tried it before and it’s a delight. Soft, clean, and those chestnut, cream, and almond notes give me warmth in this Chilean winter. On my skin, it lasts about 8 hours with a moderate sillage. Its best moment is in winter, and the bottle is gorgeous.
I bought it blindly on sale and fell in love at first sniff. It projects well, blending flowers with dried fruits as it dries, all very creamy. I love it, even if it doesn’t last long. No big deal, I just reapply and it’s perfect for fall and winter.
Glad it’s affordable, though it smells like something familiar, like a more mature version of GON. It’s floral and creamy, perfect for mild climates, but I feel it lacks a bit of strength to last all day.
