First off: on my skin, this ‘oriental fougère’ is more of an ‘aromatic citrus’. The opening is citrusy; if I’m critical, it’s a bit synthetic but not annoying. It’s refreshing and feels youthful at first, leaving a nice introduction that lasts. Gradually, you notice a very subtle floral touch, helping the fragrance. It’s true that it fades almost imperceptibly, right when you notice the citrus dropping to make way for sandalwood and patchouli in the sillage. It has moderate projection (about a meter for the first two hours) and then loses strength. By the end, at six hours, it’s skin-scent only. It’s easy to fall into olfactory fatigue, but it still smells. It’s a must-have staple, especially for summer.
I love it at first: it’s citrusy and floral. But within a few seconds, it’s no longer citrusy and it’s like you’re smelling a box of Ricola mints. It bores me, but I repeat: the opening is very, very good.
It’s floral with a sweet and soft touch, nothing intrusive. Although it’s quite noticeable at first, it lingers on the skin and clothes for over 24 hours. It’s easy to wear without any fuss. Given the price here in Spain, at some chains for around 15 euros, it’s a very good option.
I bought it at a perfumery after testing it a few years ago. I ended up gifting the last quarter of the bottle, and now it costs a quarter of what I paid. The scent is very synthetic and potent; to my taste, it’s not well-executed. I used it for a year, reapplying constantly to finish it. I gave it to a friend, and he said it left a weird synthetic trail. I don’t know what it smelled like in the store that day… Scent 4/10, versatility 4/10, projection 8/10, and longevity 6/10.
It’s a clone of Le Male by Gaultier but at a steal price. Is it bad? Absolutely not. It smells great and is very harmonious. It has that musky touch of the original, with sandalwood and patchouli that are very soft. Based on the name, you might think it’s a Mediterranean scent with citrus and woods, but it’s not; it’s a sweetened musk with a warm touch, nothing refreshing. Ideal for autumn and winter colds. The price here is top-notch, an economical version that works wonders.
