Regent by Maison Asrar: A Woody Oriental for Everyone

Maison Asrar introduces Regent, a new unisex fragrance in the woody oriental family. Launched in 2026, it balances bright citrus with a warm, woodsy character.

From its sparkling opening to a musky, ambered base, Regent offers a modern take on a classic olfactive theme, designed for any gender and many occasions.

Regent is a fresh addition to Maison Asrar's portfolio, arriving as part of the brand's 2026 lineup. It belongs to the woody oriental olfactive family, a category known for its depth and sensuality. Here, the brand opts for a polished approach that feels both contemporary and lasting.

The opening is bright and energetic, thanks to grapefruit, bergamot, and mandarin, with a spicy kick from ginger. This citrus and fresh spice accord immediately sets a lively tone, making the perfume feel vibrant without being sharp.

The heart reveals a delicate floral bouquet of orange blossom, iris root, and jasmine. These notes bring a soft, powdery elegance that tempers the initial zest. The iris adds a refined, cosmetic-like texture that many fragrance lovers appreciate.

At the base, musk, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, ambergris, and tonka bean create a warm, woody, and slightly sweet foundation. The combination feels grounded, with a lingering presence that wraps the wearer in a subtle yet noticeable trail.

Key accords include citrus, fresh spicy, woody, white floral, powdery, musky, and aromatic. With an average rating of 4.55 out of 5 from 215 ratings, Regent has already earned a positive reception among early users.

This scent is perfect for those who enjoy bold yet wearable fragrances, from the office to evening outings. It's a great pick for fans of powdery, woody orientals.

Regent is a versatile and elegant addition to Maison Asrar's lineup, and a safe recommendation for woody oriental lovers.

I haven’t smelled Sospiro Vibrato, so I don’t know how similar it is, but I did find it very similar to Turathi Blue, which I do own, almost to the point of making me think they were redundant. Very pleasant, very summery, and at the price around here (about 20 USD) it’s a better value than the previous one. In a local store, all the fragrances in this line are around that price, which seems like a steal to me. They feel high quality, less synthetic than others in the same price range.

  2. This fragrance is very well made and of excellent quality; several listed ingredients are noticeable and overall it is a well-balanced, natural scent. It’s a citrus explosion, while the iris root provides a somewhat earthy or powdery aspect. The white flowers are perceptible without becoming feminine. It conveys a lot of elegance and cleanliness; it smells like a luxury soap. It reminded me of the scent of some boxes of Indian incense, that fresh, powdery, soapy smell, but with much higher quality. I don’t know the original, but it must be spectacular. Unfortunately, the only problem would be its performance: very poor compared with what I’ve read about Sospiro Vibrato’s performance (it projects well for the first hour and lasts about 4 on skin). I hope that maceration/oxidation brings some improvement; for now the bottle is new, so I’ll come back and update this.
