Parme Aoud by Samy Andraus Fragrances

First, I love it; if the sky smelled like this, I’d be there already. The opening is elegant, and if you’re feeling down, this fragrance gives you a boost. Forget generic perfumes: it smells unique, in a new way. It’s soft, not intrusive. There’s a persistent rose undertone, so if you don’t like rose, you’ll have issues. Also, note the distinct leather, very pleasant. The blend is intriguing, and I’ll be wearing it more. It doesn’t smell like cheap alcohol or fade; it stays consistent, which is great because it reminds you of how good it smells. Is it worth it? Yes, because it’s cheap. You get something fine and distinct with extreme longevity.

For the third time reviewing this magnificent fragrance, in case jealous rivals try to erase it and overshadow the perfumer. Parme Aoud is my first extrait in the collection. In a month and a half, it’s a delicious mix of citrus, florals, and woods, including oud, evoking a creamy alcoholic aperitif from my country. At first, orange and bergamot for 15 to 20 minutes. Then comes that delicious blend that projects for 4 to 5 hours with a trail of a meter; then it drops to skin-level, with total longevity of up to 14 hours (sometimes 10). It’s winter-appropriate, ideal for autumn and winter, special occasions, evening wear, and formal or semi-formal outfits. Combination skin, climate between 6 and 18°C. Longevity: 10/10, Sillage: 7/10, Projection: 8/10, Versatility: 5/10.

I bought this from Josué Montaño, a Sammy seller in Mexico, and it started my nightmare. I ordered two but he only sent one; when I complained, he admitted his mistake and promised to ship the second, but it took over three weeks. When it finally arrived, it was Parme Aoud when I had ordered Samy Andraus GS. He hasn’t replied in two weeks. Besides the terrible service, the fragrance smells very synthetic, doesn’t smell like oud (though it might be faked), is citrusy, and lasts barely a moment. Listen to the reviews: try before you buy and don’t deal with Josué Montaño—terrible service and he sells fakes.

To be my first blind buy of this extrait, it exceeded my expectations ten thousand times over. A seductive scent I see as unisex; so far, I’ve only worn it twice since receiving it. It lasted over 12 hours, though the last bits were skin-level. At some point, it reminds me of a fruit from my homeland, the feijoa, which is a delight. Incredible praise on the first day, from home to work; a colleague even wanted to buy it after smelling it. Only two days of testing, in cold Bogotá weather (10 to 15 degrees) with combination skin. A bit complicated to buy from here, but not impossible.

I bought Parme Aoud and absolutely loved it. It smells premium and feels high-quality. Now I’m waiting for the Acqua di Parma Oud Colonia Concentrated (the brown bottle) to compare. On my skin, it lasts over 7 hours with just two sprays: starts citrusy, then turns woody with the oud. Highly recommended.

Very rich, elegant, long-lasting, and not offensive to the nose. A 10/10.
