Solid choice, very opulent. The dark rose (I can smell it clearly), the spices, and that creamy, warm sweetness make for a refined fragrance that, in my opinion, isn’t just for men. Perfect for cool or crisp days. I’m not sure if it’s identical to the AOSTK mentioned by the previous reviewer since I haven’t tried it myself. If Palace, the smaller sibling, can offer this, then Atkinsons must be incredible. Slightly ambered, it’s a well-executed oriental, enveloping, with acceptable longevity and a consistent presence for the first two hours before fading a bit. It makes you feel elegant, with that distinguished touch that truly delights the senses. A journey to the East while sitting on a Dutch airplane.
Even though the notes say they’re different, this Palace de Ambre smells like Atkinsons Oud Save The King, to the point where it feels like a clone. I picked it up yesterday at a Rituals store on sale because the sales associate said it was last year’s stock and they were clearing it out at 20%. It’s a very pleasant perfume with strong presence, luxurious, good sillage, and long-lasting. While the AOSTK is superior in quality and creaminess, rounder, and fuller-bodied, this Rituals version is a great buy if you enjoy spicy scents.
