  One of the best in my collection, Oud Kinam is a masculine, elegant, and classic scent with a mature vibe. It opens with rich citrus over a potent oud and coffee notes. I don’t detect the vanilla mentioned in the pyramid; it evolves very little, simply fading the citrus to let the oud take center stage. Performance is good, though nothing beastly as one might expect from an oud with three wood types. On my skin, it lasts 8 to 10 hours, but projection is moderate at first before settling into a skin scent that’s only noticeable at close range. For many, this is a drawback given the $400 price tag.

  I’ve heard the Oud Kinam smells like a green forest, not garbage. Dmitry seems to have added dried citrus, like zest, to highlight that. Upon opening, it’s earth, resin, and wood reminiscent of dried green and black tea leaves, with a touch of incense. It doesn’t resemble other citrus-oud combos; it’s more serious, like a fragrance for meditation, nothing for a party. It’s hard to wear, but if you like citrus with wood, you might end up loving it. I tried a decant; at first, I didn’t get it, but I kept smelling it until I finished the sample and wanted more. That’s when I knew I needed it.
