  More than a ‘Sweet Surrender,’ this is ‘Extreme Sweetness.’ Like many Arab perfumes, it’s novel, long-lasting, and projects well at a great price. The box is beautiful, the bottle striking and exotic, and everything is well-protected. It opens fresh with brown sugar, ripe red fruits, and juicy mandarin; it’s noticeable from over a meter away and hits hard. Immediately, cocoa, black vanilla, blood orange, and cinnamon kick in, followed by roses, peonies, and white flowers. It’s a creamy sweetness, almost edible. The amber makes it very warm, an aroma that wraps and embraces. Finally, there’s tonka bean, a woody touch of cedar, and a bit of musk that leaves it slightly powdery. It’s sugar, plus caramel, plus honey, plus powdered sugar, plus tonka bean, plus candied vanilla… in short, a totally cloying seducer. It lasts about seven hours on skin with a faint orange note, and on clothes, the sugar seduction is noticeable for several days afterward. It’s feminine (though I wouldn’t rule out trying it on men’s skin), supremely sensual and elegant. I bought it right after its European launch, and with the weeks passing, every time I use it, it surprises me… it’s enchanting.

  It’s identical to Lattafa’s Nebras, which I absolutely love, but owning both feels redundant. It smells sweet, with chocolate and vanilla notes; the opening is more potent than Nebras and it lasts forever. Perfect for cold weather. The bottle is gorgeous, heavy, and the packaging makes for a top-tier gift.
