Perfume: A precious floral scent with semi-oriental notes. Absolutely rich and intoxicating. The hyacinth, moss, and myrrh are perfectly and harmoniously articulated; the carnation and galbanum shine in the background. I love that creamy sweetness: over time, the floral notes take center stage and the texture becomes slightly powdery. After a few hours, the scent felt familiar: clearly, the chords of Guy Laroche’s Fidji were there—hyacinth, galbanum, iris, and other shared notes. The resemblance is huge, except Norell is more potent with a spicier touch. Nothing is coincidental: the same nose created both fragrances just two years apart.
This was my disco perfume when I was a teenager. It was strong enough so I wouldn’t smell like cigarettes and lasted all night. Actually, it belonged to my grandmother, but she didn’t wear it because she preferred other perfumes she’d been gifted, so I ended up using it and loved it. It was the late eighties, and although no one ever told me I smelled like an old lady, I only saved it for those night outs. Over the years, I swapped it for Poison by Christian Dior for the same purpose 🙂
