The description could be brief: diluted cinnamon over a fruity honey base. Chimpún. The good thing is that reviews are for opinions not just technical descriptions. This one promises to be very personal. Noel au Balcon is a warm hug in winter. It smells like a family home where they’re baking a dessert. Sweet oriental notes with honey and cinnamon toned down with some fruit (here apricots or sloes). It’s simple natural appetizing and endearing. I’d wear it on a homely beautiful kind mom that everyone loves. The projection is moderate but the longevity like a good oriental is very long. For cold weather because it’s suffocating in summer. I’m not a fan of sweet perfumes but when they smell this natural (hyper-realistic honey and cinnamon) I’m very attracted to them. With this I feel comfortable as if the scent is coming from my skin not the bottle.
The description could be brief: diluted cinnamon over a fruity honey base. Chimpún. The good thing is that reviews help you form an opinion, not just provide technical descriptions. This one promises to be very personal. Noel au Balcon is a warm winter hug. It smells like a home kitchen baking a dessert. Sweet oriental notes with honey and cinnamon, balanced by a fruit (here, apricots or blackcurrants). It’s simple, natural, appetizing, and endearing. I’d wear it on a warm, beautiful, kind motherly figure that everyone loves. Projection is moderate, but the longevity, like any good oriental, is very long. Best for cold weather; it’s overwhelming in summer. I’m not usually a fan of sweet perfumes, but when they smell this natural (hyper-realistic honey and cinnamon), I’m very drawn to them. With this, I feel comfortable, as if the scent comes from my skin, not the bottle.
There’s no cinnamon no honey nothing sweet except a few sad candied cherries tangled in burning peppers like a street bonfire left out in the open during a blizzard. I don’t know if it’s Christmas-y but it’s cold and I feel terrible. It’s revolting. It’s neither feminine nor masculine nor a room freshener; I have no idea what it is. A very expensive nightmare and a huge mistake. I have a full bottle I’m trying to get rid of just in case anyone wants it.
Hey, here the honey takes over and the apricot isn’t noticeable. My nose isn’t refined, and the honey drowns everything out, so it smells like honey from start to finish, with bergamot and spices, mostly cinnamon and clove. In fact, it reminds me of classic feminine perfumes like Dana’s Tabu, probably because of that clove. As it dries down, I notice the musk, though the vanilla and patchouli are less prominent. It also smells a bit green and bitter; maybe it’s the pepper or the black truffle, which is the first time I’ve smelled it 😂. On my skin, the performance is just okay. I’ve tested several Eldo perfumes with a sample set, and they all do the same to me. The opening is good, but it fades quickly; in under an hour, it’s just a skin scent. Let’s see if I can find one with more punch. It seems unisex, though at first I thought it was for night or cold weather, but given its soft projection and limited intensity, it can be worn almost anytime, except in the sun because sweat mixed with honey doesn’t sit well on me. Scent: 7, Longevity: 7, Projection: 6, Value: 5, Versatility: 6.5, Originality: 8, Overall: 7
Nothing teaches me more than making a mistake, so once again, I’ve done it. After days of testing this Noel, I’ve changed my mind. I still feel those burning candied cherries, but now the spices dominate. It smells like lots of cinnamon, and although it shouldn’t, I detect clove. The honey appears at the dry-down, but it’s a natural honey with that sometimes-urinous tone. I totally agree with Karyukai about the longevity. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind. If you’re looking for an easy scent reminiscent of cinnamon rolls or Christmas sweets, this isn’t it; it’s more like a spice bomb with dried apricot, not juicy, with less gourmand character than expected and more unisex. It still hasn’t won me over, but we can be friends. I don’t rule out writing a third review in a few days saying it’s become my favorite! XD
On the contrary, what I notice most is the honey; I can’t find the apricot. My nose isn’t very refined, and honey tends to mask everything. Here, I find honey from start to finish, tainted by bergamot and spices, especially cinnamon and clove; it reminds me quite a bit of classic feminine perfumes like Dana’s Tabú, probably because without clove, a similar blend creates the same effect. In the dry down, I detect the musk, though the vanilla and patchouli are harder to pick out. I also sense something green and bitter; I’m not sure if it’s the pepper or the black clover, because honestly, I’ve never smelled a clover before 😂. Performance is just okay. I’ve tried several El Do perfumes because I ordered a sample set, and the same thing happens with all of them. The opening is good, but they fade quickly; in less than an hour, it’s just skin scent. Let’s see if I can find one with more punch. It seems unisex, and while it looks like a night/cold weather scent at first, given its soft projection and limited intensity, I think it could be worn almost anytime, except in direct sunlight because, for me, sweat mixed with honey isn’t a good combo. I fell in love with this fragrance; it’s exactly what I love: honey and cinnamon at the start, warm and delicious without being cloying. Then talc, flowers, and vanilla appear; a delightful mix. The problem is it doesn’t last: I used it three times, and on the last occasion, with five sprays, it faded to skin-level scent in just a few minutes, lasting only 3 to 4 hours. I didn’t receive any compliments, though I can still smell and enjoy it on myself. I’d love for it to have a bit more projection.
I fell in love with this fragrance; it’s the perfect dose of everything I adore: at first, it smells like honey with a touch of cinnamon, warm and delicious without being cloying. Then it turns powdery, with flowers and vanilla—a total delight. The problem is I’ve only worn it three times; last time, with five sprays, it barely lasted 3-4 hours on my skin. I didn’t get a single compliment, though I do enjoy wearing it occasionally. I wish it projected a bit more.
I was looking for something with cinnamon and they told me to try Noël au Balcon. Bought it blind and nailed it 100%. It smells like sweet cinnamon bathed in honey, with a hint of clove and anise right on the skin. It’s exactly ‘Christmas on the balcony’: well-spiced Easter cookies, sweet and fresh out of the oven. I love gourmands that break the mold, and I’m thrilled I added it to my collection. As it dries down, the orange blossom takes center stage; I adore it when it’s not citrusy (there’s just a touch of ripe, juicy mandarin at the start). The purchase of the year; no perfume has ever made me this happy. 11/10
I was looking for cinnamon, and Noel Au Balcon was the perfect find from my blind buys. It’s that sweet, honey-dusted cinnamon that smells like Christmas on the balcony, freshly baked Easter cookies, and well-spiced. Up close, I detect clove and a hint of anise. I love gourmands that break the mold, and I’m super happy to own it. As it dries down, the bergamot shines; I adore it when it’s not in a citrus accord (I wore it with a ripe, juicy tangerine). The best purchase of the year; no perfume has ever made me this happy. 11/10
If you’re looking to smell like Christmas, this is the one you need: it smells like gingerbread with cinnamon. It’s warm, slightly spicy, and sweet—super cozy. It blends European Christmas vibes of mulled wine with cinnamon and gingerbread warmed by the stove. It’s pure Christmas ‘hygge’: cozy, gooey, and inviting. Perfect for curling up in a tartan blanket by the fireplace while snow falls outside, something delicious cooks, and carols play. It evokes a 100% Christmas storybook illustration to travel back in time or imagine December. Alongside By the Fireplace and Noël au Balcon, these are the most clearly Christmas scents I’ve tried so far. Christmas carols, colored lights, panettone, and this scent.
For noses craving the smell of Christmas, specifically a gingerbread cookie recipe with cinnamon. It’s moderate, slightly spicy, and sweet, cozy. This perfume unites the European Christmas concept of mulled wine with cinnamon and gingerbread cookies with the warmth of a stove. A ‘hygge’ concept in the purest Christmas style: cozy, goody, welcoming. Perfect for Christmas under tartan blankets, by the fireplace, and snow, while something delicious bakes in the oven and carols play in the background. It’s 100% evocative of a Christmas story illustration to travel back to past memories or imagine future December scenes. Along with By the Fireplace, Noël au Balcon are the most clearly Christmas perfumes I’ve encountered so far. Christmas Carols, colored lights, panettone, and this perfume.
