I’m surprised this fragrance is so unknown. There’s always that scent I keep searching for without thinking too much. Sometimes it takes a while to realize you’ve already found it, and one day you stand before a display case with different fragrances, all special in their own way and filled with memories and longings. Memories of a distant country where a fragrance was used with special frequency and pleasure. The longing for last summer and those long warm nights when you sat outside watching the stars. But then there’s this special aroma that doesn’t awaken any memory in you, doesn’t stir any longing, and yet the 15 ml vial is suddenly half empty. Immediately after spraying, I perceive this typical oud scent, and the rose is also briefly noticeable, but without thorns and nothing prickly in the nose. Now you just need a few minutes of patience, and the fragrance melts into your skin and soul. It becomes warm, and a spicy, amber, caramelized sweetness suddenly envelops you like a warm, protective aura. And in the dry down, a warm, slightly smoky spiced vanilla remains on the skin. A perfume perfectly suited for winter, well-perceptible just like its longevity and trail. The scent lasts without fading for hours, and you can still smell it on clothes the next day. I really like it, but I won’t buy it because for a sixth of its price you can get Lattafa’s Oud Mood, which is 80% similar, minus the animalic opening. If that one didn’t exist, it would be an almost mandatory purchase for me.
