  • I ordered a sample set from this house, and except for this one and another, they haven’t impressed me much. As I mentioned with the Amber from the same brand, poor customer service might be part of the issue: late shipments, no returns without opening, slow auto-replies, and then you get paired responses. Anyway, with niche or hard-to-find fragrances, I pay extra attention to this. I think small brands can afford the ‘luxury’ of having fewer clients but serving them better, though I’m not sure if this brand is actually that small; in fact, it seems to be getting a lot of hype in the perfume world. The question is… is it deserved hype? Getting to the point: what does this smell like? Musk 12 feels refined, pleasant, and elegant. Sure, you have to like musk, but in my opinion, it’s lightyears away from NR’s, which is sharper and more synthetic. Here, the only downside is that it’s too subtle and soft; while it accompanies you, its trail is very faint. I ordered the large bottle because it’s undoubtedly a versatile all-rounder: it works for almost any season and time of day. You might like it more or less, but it’s not a scent that will bother anyone. The florals are well-executed, and while they have their role, the lead is taken by musk and vanilla, which in my opinion is more wearable, fresh, and lighter than the Vanilla 28 from the same house, which gets a bit heavy. The sandalwood is rich too, so if you like these notes, don’t hesitate to try it.

  • Kayali isn’t available at Sephora in my city, but a few days ago I asked and they had a sample. It was an awkward moment when the sales associate asked what smelled good, and I gave her a poker face because nothing really smells good to me… Nothing is nothing, like they’d splashed water on me.

12/20/2023 A few days ago I tested this fragrance on blotter paper at Sephora. Its cleanliness stood out from the very first moment. I kept the paper and couldn’t help but pull it out occasionally to smell it again; now I’m craving to try it once more. I loved how clean it smells; it’s that simple. The only downside is that it’s very, very soft: projection is minimal and the trail is almost non-existent. If there’s any other scent source nearby, whether another person, a tapas bar, or a room freshener, you won’t notice anything. Maybe you need to take a shower in it to get the most out of it. 12/30/2023 I tested Initio’s Musk Therapy, and while it’s not identical, it’s that same type of fragrance: cleanliness and musk. I’m writing this here because for me, that’s where Musk 12 falls short: performance. Musk Therapy offers it in just the right measure; despite not having great projection, it’s appropriate since projecting more could be counterproductive and annoying. Its longevity is medium-high; I applied it 8 hours ago and can still clearly detect it. Obviously, it’s much more expensive, but if you like Musk 12 and can afford Musk Therapy, it’s a great alternative. If not, you’ll surely find inspirations or dupes on sites like Similar Perfum.

  • Clean, soft, high-class, and supremely elegant. It’s the perfect balance of musk and vanilla—I love it. The trail is quite soft and doesn’t last long on the skin; after about three hours, it’s almost imperceptible. Rumor has it it’s already discontinued…

  • Stephanialga

A flawless discontinued gem. Elegant and clean, want to know what pure musk smells like? This scent achieves it perfectly.

A flawless discontinued gem. Elegant and clean; want to know what pure musk smells like? This scent nails it perfectly.

  • This perfume opens on my skin with lotus and jasmine, lightly sweetened by vanilla, until the sweetness fades and a very clean, beautiful white musk emerges. The downside is it doesn’t last more than three hours on my skin. In short, a safe blind buy: a very feminine, spring and summer scent, but with weak projection and a slightly high price.

  • Clean, soft, sillage-forward, and supremely elegant. It’s the perfect balance between musk and vanilla; I love it. Its trail is quite soft and it doesn’t last long on the skin; after about 3 hours, it’s almost imperceptible. Apparently, it’s already discontinued…

  • If you take the Clean Reserve skin, remove the praline and salt, and add sugar-scented dish soap, you get Musk 12. I, of course, prefer the first option.

  • If you strip the praline and salt from Clean Reserve and add a dash of sugar detergent, you get Musk 12. Personally, I still prefer the original.
