If you’ve spent some time in the perfume world, you’ll realize that while you might like many scents, you eventually develop a preference for a specific type, certain aromas, or notes that make you smile and say: ‘Wow, this is one of mine.’ In my case, fougères rank high on my list because they evoke masculinity, seriousness, cleanliness, and a certain old-school class and manners. In my search for fougères, I stumbled upon a surprise like this one: Marbert Man, a perfume and brand I’d never seen before, and it’s a marvel. A fougère in all caps, with all those characteristics plus excellent longevity. If you like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, this fits that line but is more soapy, slightly ambered, with a better trail and lasting power.
