It’s an oriental scent with a predominant oud note, even though it’s not listed; it resembles Amouage’s Interlude Man but is less potent, fruitier, and more citrusy. Much easier to wear. In conclusion, it’s a high-performance men’s fragrance for guys over 25, nothing casual, and totally formal. Good projection and trail, with over 8 hours of longevity.

It’s an oriental with lots of oud, even though it’s not listed in the notes; it reminds me of Amouage’s Interlude Man but softer, fruitier, and more citrusy, making it ideal for daily wear. Brutal performance, lasting over 8 hours, with incredible projection and trail. Perfect for men over 25, nothing casual, and totally formal.

  • It’s clearly inspired by Xerjoff’s More Than Words. Tested side-by-side, the differences are stark: in MTW, there’s a brutal rose with a clean, non-fecal, non-medical oud and distinct fruits. In Maahir, the floral notes are toned down, there’s a friendly musk, fruits, and a rich vanilla base. It lacks the beastly power of MTW, but it holds its own pretty well. Friend Robert Montesino commented that it reminded him of Amouage’s Interlude, but I disagree: Maahir lacks the smoky notes and that distinct oregano or patchouli touch characteristic of Interlude. Hope my review helps fellow fragrance enthusiasts before buying this exquisite scent.

  • Another Lattafa hit, buy blind without fear; the quality justifies the price. It’s a classic oriental of rose, oud, and vanilla, but here the rose is a different flower and there’s a caramel-like sweet touch. It smells like oud when dry, maybe it’s the sandalwood. It’s more feminine but unisex, ideal for formal wear and definitely not for heat. 100% recommended.

  • Excellent Lattafa perfume. Another hit and another satisfying blind buy. With this brand, you can’t go wrong on price or quality. It’s another typical oriental combo of rose, oud, and vanilla. Since there are so many on the market, it’s not groundbreaking, but instead of rose, it feels like a similar floral variant with a caramel-like sweet note, quite pleasant. Although the pyramid says no oud, it smells something like it when dry, or maybe it’s the sandalwood… It’s more feminine than masculine, but ultimately unisex and ideal for formal wear. Not suitable for heat. Totally recommended.

What a surprise this golden Lattafa horse brought me! Maahir is a beast, definitely one of the house’s best. The opening is a dusty rose floral with several fruits; you catch a hint of oud right away, but it really comes into its own as it evolves. It’s not an animalic or rare oud; it’s mineral with animalic sparkles thanks to the rose, giving it a sexy vibe. A magnificent composition designed to captivate, elegant beyond words. Versatile, but watch your sprays: with just three, it projected like Satan on the subway and got a bit overwhelming. A perfect perfume that won me over in a couple of hours. The bottle is the best I’ve seen and will stand out in your collection. For the price, it’s a 10/10. You HAVE to have it. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 9.5/10, Projection: 9/10. Highly recommended.

What a surprise this Lattafa Golden Horse turned out to be. Maahir is undoubtedly the best from the house. It opens with a floral rose attack mixed with various fruits; you catch a hint of oud right away, but it’s only as it evolves that the oud truly becomes present. There’s no animalic oud or anything weird here—it’s a mineral oud with animalic sparkles thanks to the rose, giving it a sensual touch. A magnificent composition designed to captivate, elegant beyond measure. While versatile, be careful with the sprays because three sprays projected like Satan on the subway, making you feel uncomfortable. A perfect perfume that won me over in just a couple of hours. The packaging is the best I’ve seen; it will stand out in your collection, and for the price, it’s a 10. You absolutely must have it. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 9.5/10, Projection: 9/10. Highly recommended ✓

  • It’s a characterful perfume. The first 20 minutes are very strong with a huge sillage; then the vanilla starts to come through, becoming effeminate, and on my skin it reminds me a lot of incense (Blue Nag Champa). I don’t dislike it, but it’s not for warm climates in my opinion. The talc notes aren’t as strong as I thought. It lasts 6 to 10 hours on my skin. In my taste, the notes feel better after the first hour. I wouldn’t buy it again, though I insist I don’t dislike it; it’s not my favorite due to this incense evocation that comes to mind, which is purely personal, but I missed the talc notes on my skin and didn’t get them fully. But if you’re looking for great longevity and sillage, plus Arab mysticism with sweet, woody, and smoky touches… this is your perfume, and if you love incense… you’ll be fascinated. It was a blind buy; I feel it’s better to try it on skin first.

I don’t get hooked on the opening; it’s too sweet and potent, likely due to that vanilla-fruit blend that smells synthetic. But after 20 minutes, the vibe shifts: it becomes a sweet floral with a musky touch and soft woods. By the hour, the spicy sandalwood adds an earthy spice, then it settles back into that sweet floral. Don’t buy this blindly, especially if you’re a guy not used to unisex florals. I haven’t tested it in summer, but in cold or mild weather, the performance is great. Recommended.

I found this fragrance very difficult. I bought it blind because I wanted something challenging, yet I can’t handle it and have tried it several times, though I’ll keep trying. Longevity and projection are excellent.

  • Comadrejal

It’s the same as Sheik AS Luxe Edition. Definitely smells like burnt caramel, sweet, with a tiny floral touch. It smells like many Lattafas: unisex, with no pretensions, just meant to smell pleasant.

  • At first, it’s hard to grasp its aroma; it’s not easy to wear, neither for daytime nor in the heat. 100% recommended for cold nights. If a man wears it, he must do so with personality and confidence, because it leaves a floral trail wherever he walks. Once you get used to it and wear it with confidence, it becomes a winning perfume and one of your favorites.

I bought it for my collection. The packaging is gorgeous, a high-quality bottle. The opening is different for me, somewhat difficult. After half an hour, it settles into a rich, sweet scent recognizable in other fragrances but with its own symphony. It’s a good quality perfume with great performance, easily lasting 8 hours. The projection isn’t beastly but projects well, especially in the first hour, which unfortunately is the part I like least. I recommend it… yes, I own two. Just make sure it’s winter, autumn, or cool nights in spring and summer, why not.

I bought it for my collection and the bottle is gorgeous, very high quality. The opening is distinct and a bit difficult, but after 30 minutes it settles and smells rich, sweet, and recognizable with its own identity. Good performance, easily 8 hours, with correct projection, although the first hour is the least interesting. I recommend it; I own two. Only for winter, autumn, and cool spring or summer nights.

  • The only thing that stands out is the packaging, longevity, and sillage. I bought it based on reviews to gift to my husband, and what a surprise. To remove this scent from your skin, you need a lot of soap, patience, and paracetamol. Once you wear it, a migraine is imminent. It’s a mix of sweat and MAJA powder, which is a bomb and no compliment. No one in the house tolerated it; it’s been the worst blind buy I’ve ever made.

  • What stands out most about this fragrance is its packaging, longevity, and sillage. I bought it based on reviews to gift to my husband, and what a shock. To remove this scent from skin, you need lots of soap, patience, and acetaminophen. Once you apply it, a migraine is inevitable. It’s a mix of sweat and MAJA dust—it’s a bomb, and not a compliment. No one in the house tolerated it; it’s the worst blind buy I’ve ever made.

  • Excellent perfume. Starting with the packaging: the bottle is stunning; I keep it as a desk decoration and it adds a nice touch. The scent is complex, niche-level; just two sprays project a couple of meters around you. The quality is top-notch. The smell has a golden hue—sun, talc, like soap and incense. It takes time to understand, but once you get it, you fall in love. It’s a refined scent. Highly recommended 10/10.

  • I started with Maahir Black and it drove me crazy, so I tried this thinking it would be another sweet one because of the ‘Gold’ in the name. Nothing like that. It’s a great perfume, though not perfect as some claim. Don’t buy blind unless you collect Arab fragrances. The opening is chaotic and shrill, with a hint of Armaf’s CDNI Woman (which is unisex). Then it balances out, becoming silky, powdery, and very pleasant. I even think it could be worn in summer (at night) without being too much. The dry down keeps subtle floral notes that make it wearable and refined; it smells expensive. I also notice a slight resemblance to Etat des Sens by Gres. I can’t comment on longevity because my dry skin isn’t ideal for testing. It smells French, not oriental. I like it a lot, but it’s not the best from Lattafa. There are several better options from Lattafa and Alhambra.

  • Definitely not something to buy blind. The smell repulsed me: very strong with a weird sweetness.

On a chilly day in the middle of summer, I decided to wear it because of the cold, rain, and mountain fog. I normally use it in autumn or winter for the warmth it provides, but today it surprised me: after four hours, it felt warm, elegant, with an ultra-talc-dry, sweet, and creamy dry-down. I’ve read more reviews from men, so I took the plunge to buy it; my husband didn’t love it due to the oriental notes, but on me, it settled as very feminine—like flowers bathed in sweet talc without losing the warmth of the spices. I wore it in a closed-in office, and I think the cold mellowed it out a lot, creating an ‘ahh, that smells so good’ vibe. So, I got compliments and non-stop hugs. Just make sure it never loses its elegance, just like its beautiful bottle.

  • This is a fragrance you definitely shouldn’t buy blind. It’s not for everyone; honestly, it made me gag. A very strong scent with a weird sweetness.

Here are the actual notes from the Lattafa website, I don’t know why they aren’t listed here: Top: Saffron and Rose; Heart: Akigalawood, Leather, and Dry Amber; Base: Oud accord, Vanilla, and Musk.

  • Claudioargento89

These are the actual notes listed on the Lattafa website; I don’t understand why they’re displayed incorrectly here. Notes: Top: Saffron, Rose. Heart: Akigalawood, Leather, Dry Amber. Base: Oud accord, Vanilla, Musk.

  • naso_en_ciernes

It doesn’t explicitly declare oud, but you can smell it in the opening, which is a virtue of Maahir. It starts masculine and then sweetens up, moving into unisex territory with niche perfume vibes and floral notes (I detect some fruitiness in the top and heart). It smells more expensive than its price tag and comes in a luxurious bottle. It’s elegant. Since this is from one of the house’s older batches, it performs better than many recent releases. Give it a try, along with Lattafa Opulent Oud from the rose-oud combo.

  • Definitely a fragrance for guys over 50. It’s not for everyone. The opening is super smoky, then it turns into a very strong, animalic leather that’s almost skunky. It really upset my stomach. Not for everyone.

  • In my opinion, this is a rose-forward scent similar to Armani Rose, leaning more feminine than unisex. It evokes old-fashioned, talc-dusted rose fragrances with great projection and longevity. Nothing groundbreaking, especially considering its launch date.

  • Definitely a fragrance for men over 50. Not for everyone. The opening is super smoky, followed by an intense, animalic leather that almost smells like a fox. It really upset my stomach. Not for everyone.

  • I bought this looking for the typical rose-oud combo for cold weather. I don’t know if it’s an imitation of Xerjoff’s More Than Words since I haven’t tried it, but it definitely reminds me of Guerlain’s Santal Royal. The parts of Maahir aren’t linear: a strong but wearable opening of smoky roses with saffron; a heart of smoky leather and oud; a base of sandalwood and oud. The Fragantica notes are incorrect: there are no peaches or berries. It’s a very impressive perfume that doesn’t smell like synthetic Arabic firewater, but could pass for a European fragrance with Arabic inspiration due to its naturalness. The quality is noticeable, even if most don’t realize it. When to use it: whenever you feel like it, even at 50°C in the shade, but ideally in cold weather, evening, and formal outings. It’s not for the office due to the overwhelming sillage. Also, fragrances like this are prime targets for imitations. If the batch has dots instead of dashes, it’s a bad sign; you’re just praying for something wearable.

  • The notes listed here on Fragantica are not real. For crying out loud, there’s no jasmine, sandalwood, or peach. Those notes are wrong, fix them.

  • Amazing perfume! The opening can be shocking due to that explosion of saffron and rose. In the heart, the leather appears, reminding me of shoe polish. As it dries, that leather lingers and adds the smoky Oud accord (and watch out, for the price, it doesn’t have fake Oud) along with vanilla, making it super sweet. The projection is brutal: about 2-3 hours in the air and on skin, it lasts 10 hours; on clothes, it lasts for days. Many compare it to Xerjoff’s More Than Words, but I disagree. MTW opens with a juicy, realistic rose, fruits, and a background Oud that takes the lead in the heart (note: it’s not a challenging, animalic, or fecal Oud like Burgas, but a woody one). The dry downs aren’t equal either: MTW dries with that woody Oud, reduced rose, and fruity sweetness; in Maahir, the rose disappears, drying with that shoe-polish-like leather, smoky Oud, and lots of vanilla. Price-quality 10/10.

  • I liked it without knowing why, but it gives me a sensation of Baby Menen Cologne, but with wood. It’s like smelling that classic cologne but with a more mature and woody touch.

  • Brutal fragrance, powerful and with that addictive Arabic DNA vibe. Warm, slightly sweet, and floral due to the rose, but the embrace of Oud in the wood rounds everything out. At first, it can be a bit aggressive, but it hooks you immediately; I’ve received plenty of compliments. (*) NOTE: The notes listed here are not the official Lattafa ones. If you’re looking for something fresh or simple, this isn’t for you, but if you want a challenge, something different and potent, this is an elixir, as Coco would say.
