L'Eau de Neroli by Diptyque is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2008, the nose behind this composition is Olivier Pescheux. The top notes are citrus, bergamot, lemon verbena (lemon balm, sweet verbena), petit grain, and tarragon; the heart notes are neroli, orange blossom, and Egyptian geranium; the base notes are beeswax, white musk, and cedar.

It’s impossible not to like it because it respects that luminous citrus-floral atmosphere of neroli without overcomplicating things. It surely recalls classic, historic formulas that work this note. It’s the neroli of old that will never bother anyone.

It surely recalls classic, historical formulas that mastered this note. It’s the timeless neroli that will never bother anyone.
Super fine, citrusy, and aromatic neroli. It feels fresh, green, and lovely, but honestly, you can find similar scents in much cheaper fragrances. The longevity is very short, maybe just 2-3 hours at best, and the sillage is low. It doesn’t remind me too much of Portofino Neroli; in Tom Ford’s version, the neroli is more prominent and less citrusy. Even though the longevity isn’t amazing, I’d definitely choose this one for the scent alone.
