I’ve been wearing this classic Giovanna Baby, which is more than just lavender—it’s a delicious ‘old school’ cologne. It lasts 6 to 8 hours, and people around me can smell it from far away; the projection is strong. I have a wonderful memory of my mother getting me ready for school with it.
I lived through the Giovanna Baby boom in the 80s; I’ve tried dozens of imitations and none smell the same—GB is truly unique. Imagine natural lavender balanced with fruits and flowers, plus that classic Italian talcum powder vibe like Borotalco. It’s fresh yet distinct from anything else, sweet without being cloying, and elegant. People often mistake it for a niche scent: a clean, non-invasive floral that’s totally unisex. Whenever I go to Brazil, I pack the 50ml cologne, the pearl cream, the body mist, and the soap; it’s perfect for sleeping in or for spring and autumn. The longevity is medium-to-high—my pillows always smell like it. You can sometimes find it in Portugal; if you like Bvlgari Petits & Mamans, it’s similar, but to me GB smells like natural ingredients, whereas Bvlgari feels synthetic and overly sweet.
