  Thaty launched in Brazil in 1980, back when foreign perfumes in Latin America were the domain of politicians, the wealthy, or drug lords. National brands like Jean Pascal or O Boticario emerged to offer quality at fair prices. Thaty was cheap, smelled great, and was fresh—something crucial in Brazil’s hot and humid climate. It opens with powdery lavender and green geranium, reminiscent of insect repellent. Then comes a barely noticeable powdery rose and eucalyptus flower with its minty, medicinal aroma. The white musk doesn’t dominate; it just lingers until the scent fades. It reminds me of a medieval lavender water blending feminine and masculine florals, resulting in an almost unisex vibe. It doesn’t stand out for longevity or sillage; it smells and lasts like an apothecary headache remedy. It’s clean yet cozy, like a clean white t-shirt worn for sleeping. Presentation: 10/10 (heavy, quality bottle). Longevity: 3/10 (about 2-3 hours). Sillage: 3/10 (close to the skin for an hour). Originality: 7/10 (unique in its range and price). Versatility: 5/10 (casual only). I use it year-round at home, but it’s too fresh for cold weather. Personal taste: 9/10. Would I buy it again?: Absolutely.

  It’s a super aquatic perfume, perfect for cooling down in the heat. Once it dries, it leaves a slightly powdery base that smells like baby powder. The longevity is minimal; on my skin, it lasts a maximum of 2 to 3 hours. I’ve had it for over 10 years and was gifted a new bottle; the formula hasn’t changed at all, only the bottle now comes with a spray nozzle.
