A good alternative, it has all the musky woody profile of the Chanel Allures that transport me back to the mid-2000s (in my opinion, a fantastic decade for men’s perfumery). It’s not the clone with the sweetest or gourmandest opening I’ve ever smelled, but it does have good depth and masculinity in the dry down. I see it as perfect for the office on a man aged 25 and up (even younger if the environment is formal/serious).
Be careful, this was quite disappointing. I didn’t own the Edition Blanche, and upon testing, the first thing I smelled was a super synthetic lemon that I disliked on the opening. Gradually, the harsh scent faded and became more bearable. A month later, I bought the Chanel because I couldn’t believe an Allure with so much hype could be so underwhelming; that’s when I realized there was nothing comparable. It has echoes of the original but is poorly executed, far from the quality of the Blanche. I regret investing in this bad clone.
Chanel Edition Blanche has been my favorite perfume for a long time. After reading reviews about a supposed inspiration, I decided to buy it to compare them side by side. On the opening, the resemblance is surprising: it would be around 85% similar to the original Blanche. However, as the scent dries, it turns into a chemical lemon, very much like the smell of those cheap limonene wipes, which completely ruins the fragrance. After two weeks of aging, I smelled it again today, and to my surprise, that synthetic touch was cut in half. It still has a way to go to match the creamy and refined profile of the Edition Blanche, but at least there’s an intention to improve. I’ll keep letting it age for a couple more months and will update here. For now, I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re a true devotee of the Edition Blanche and want to try it as a last resort. Still, I warn you that it might happen to you just like it did to me.
Mmm, a full-on citrus perfume; I thought it would be a bit sweeter/creamier. But it’s like a citrus scent for hot weather. It has a very faint sweetness, but it’s heavily toned down. I like it, it didn’t kill me, but it’s on the line of Dior Homme Cologne (not the same, but similar). 8/10 for daily wear 👍🏻
Smells fresh and rich, similar to Allure Blanche. I wish it lasted a bit longer. Let’s let it age to see more later…
