Launched in 2012, this composition features lavender, mandarin, bergamot, and herbal notes as top notes; jasmine, orange blossom, sage, geranium, rosemary, and basil in the heart; and Brazilian rosewood, amber, sandalwood, vetiver, and oakmoss in the base. The fragrance was created by perfumer JAFRA.

I’m not an expert on men’s fragrances, but I happen to own a JF9 RED and decided to review it. The lavender and geranium notes dominate; to me, it smells like a fragrance for a mature man. One thing about JF9 perfumes is that they last quite a while.
At first, you wait a couple of seconds for the alcohol to settle, then the lavender comes through with a touch of sweet mandarin and moss. Once it dries down, it becomes softer with that floral and woody scent. I wouldn’t wear it myself; it feels more suited for someone older, like over 45, extroverted and open-minded. The projection is strong for the first hour before fading. I like the smell but can’t see myself using it. 🤷
