Got a decant as a gift and tried it today. What a terrible scent. Maybe I’m just not used to oud, but for something to smell good, you need to ‘train’ your nose… This is synonymous with walking around stinking and repelling people. The moment I put it on, it smelled awful—rough, harsh, like a meaningless mix of many things. After a few seconds, I thought, ‘Is this Aventus with roses?’ I’m not sure, it kind of resembles it, but there’s something smoky, and combined with the sweetness, it reminded me of Aventus for a moment. Right now, my arm smells like a septic tank with roses.
