A while ago I stopped by the Prada boutique and tried almost all perfumes from their new Infusion line. I ended up in a cloud of attar/soapy vibes with the big problem of not being able to distinguish each fragrance hahaha. Of this Infusion de Cléopâtre, I can say it’s a clean, slightly soapy, floral scent; obviously the dominant note is clove, in its spiced/floral, somewhat green profile. It’s a very elegant and feminine scent, of the classic type. The woody notes make it very warm and give it maturity, certainly worthy of Prada’s family of elegant perfumes.
Infusion d’Oeillet features a classic, peppery, powdery clove, heavily spiced with hints of clove. The opening has fleeting fresh, bright mandarin bursts (that last a breath). Soon, a resin emerges halfway between fougère and oriental, powdery, balsamic, with memories of sweet, cold myrrh and clean green, camphoraceous patchouli leaves. It’s the least ‘infusion-like’ in the line, having the least musky-metallic base and the least freshness, yet it retains the soapy imprint, making it also the most intense and long-lasting. A perfume with modern touches and nods to the past, perfectly unisex, balanced, elegant without being subtle. Luckily for me, it’s a great unknown 🙂
It starts aromatic, spiced, peppery, and warm, just like the bottle’s tone. At first, it’s hard to pick up the clove; I only sense it among the spices, but over time it shines through: the scent settles, loses its bite, and becomes creamy, cool, and softly sweet. This is my favorite phase; it doesn’t project much anymore, staying close to the skin, yet it lasts for hours. Overall, I adore it. The clove is beautifully crafted with so many nuances. It has a classic cosmetic soapy facet and leans masculine. It’s more intense than other infusions I’ve tried, interesting, with personality and evolution. It lasts over 12 hours on skin and projects moderately at first. A great perfume.
I love it: clean, semi-attar style. The clove emerges after 30–40 minutes, but what dominates are the mature woods, very similar to Loewe 001 Man at the start.
