Incensi by Lorenzo Villoresi is a woody oriental fragrance launched in 1997. The nose behind this composition is Lorenzo Villoresi. For men and women, the olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of galbanum, elemi, green notes, Amalfi lemon, bergamot, and green apple; a heart of cinnamon, pepper, juniper, French labdanum, and mimosa; and a base of incense, myrrh, balsam of Peru, styrax, opoponax, benzoin, and sandalwood.

Clean and fresh, starting with a citrusy verbena note that reminds me of my grandparents’ house in the countryside. It’s not about being vintage, but rather the direct cleanliness of those lemons and the peace they convey. The base is rough wood, yet light, as if it were hydroponic tree trunks that never touch the earth and climb scaffolding. The most earthly element is the styrax, smelling subtly of tires; it doesn’t dominate like in other Oriza L. Legrand fragrances. This rubber scent is super Sonic the Hedgehog, spinning around at full speed, full of energy, jumping over animal-shaped robots. You barely notice it among all the turns; it feels more like a breath of wind than a piece of rubber.
