“Illusion” is a gorgeous, fresh, and herbal fragrance. It opens green with semi-sweet citrus notes; a tart lime and orange juice burst upon spraying. As it settles on the skin, it becomes green and herbal with fruity accents, highlighting fig leaf alongside orange blossom and that juicy touch. After half an hour, it softens and the citrus fades, leaving a lightly sweetened herbal scent. The longevity is short, lasting no more than 3 hours on skin with a weak trail throughout; ideal for refreshing yourself on hot days and reapplying every 3 hours. It’s hard to find—I only tried it in a 5ml decant. I love it, but the performance makes me hesitate to buy it. Undoubtedly, it’s a beautiful interpretation of fig. Curiously, as it dries on my skin, it reminds me a lot of YSL’s Libre EDT, with a faint lavender touch even though it’s not listed.

“Illusion” is a pleasant fragrance where fig leaf takes center stage. However, the citrus and fruity notes give it a slightly sweet twist that, without being cloying, leans it toward a more traditionally feminine profile compared to classics like Philosykos or Un Jardin en Méditerranée. I also feel it lacks the punch and personality of Womanity. The trail is nice, though the longevity doesn’t justify the price. In summary, it’s a pretty perfume, perfect for hot days, but despite that—and even though fig scents are my favorites—it didn’t blow me away. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 4/10, Versatile: 6/10, Original: 6/10.

For the price, I expected a great trail or at least 5+ hours of longevity, but on skin it doesn’t even reach that; after 4 hours, it’s just a skin scent. That said, since I tested it on clothes, it needs to be washed a couple of times to remove the smell. The scent is very rich, with floral notes and that fresh touch of what I imagine is bergamot, though it’s so camouflaged by the fig leaf that it doesn’t stand out. Is it a rich scent? Yes. Would I buy it again? Definitely not at the current price, but if it were more affordable, I would for sure.
