Azalea was love at first sniff. I know I have a thing for sweet scents, but everything here is so well-integrated that I can’t classify it as vanilla-forward. Usually, I enjoy nutty notes, but chestnut always brings to mind something warm mixed with sweat. Back to the main point: Alexis Didier’s (the creator of other fragrances in this line) excellent work makes Azalea my favorite in the Parco Palladiano collection so far (I’ve tried 6 and love 5). All her components blend so seamlessly that nothing stands out; the chestnut has the perfect balance with the vanilla, and I assume the rhododendron note is what does the magic. The scent is creamy, sweet, slightly powdery, and dry, and when mixed with the fruity (but not juicy) notes of peach and tangerine, it gives off a medicinal caramel vibe—nothing gourmand. A wonderful composition that perfectly complements the other fragrances in the line, all unique and magical, pure olfactory experiences.
