Descripción
Oriflame Fuse is a woody aquatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by perfumer Dora Baghriche. The top notes unfold with cypress, lime, grapefruit, ginger, and mandarin; the heart reveals bay leaf, cashmere wood, and Virginia cedar; while the base settles on musk, vetiver, sandalwood, and tonka bean.

I don’t detect any citrus. The opening smells like nail polish and mold. By the hour, it becomes a wet sweater that, ironically, heats up your head with its stench. The chemical wood note makes you regret wearing it within five minutes. It’s hardly masculine and very industrial; perhaps suitable for a cyberpunk party with neon lights and aluminum foil. Since Oriflame is Swedish, maybe it works in their cold climate, but here, in this eternal summer, it’s an olfactory nightmare.
I detect no citrus at all; the opening smells like nail polish and mold. By the hour, it turns into a wet sweater—yes, but the stench heats up your head rather than the fabric. The chemical wood note at five minutes just makes you wish you’d fumigated your clothes. It’s hardly masculine and very industrial; maybe for a cyberpunk party with neon lights and aluminum foil. I think my review from a decade ago is no longer valid because my sense of smell was limited then, and I didn’t know the fragrance’s evolution. Thanks to a recent cold front, I tried perfumes I normally wouldn’t wear, like this Fuse. At first, it smells of fresh lime and grapefruit that fade quickly, giving way to ginger that lasts throughout the scent. What I previously thought was nail polish now I’d describe as ‘ginger with anise,’ perhaps due to the tangerine peel, cashmere, or the contrast between the ginger’s spice and the sandalwood’s sweetness. What I once smelled as a suffocating wet sweater I attribute to tonka bean and vetiver, notes that stand out less in the cold. I admit I’ve left the bottle out of its box in a dark wooden drawer, away from light, but that doesn’t prevent components from breaking down over the years. However, it smells just like when I first used it, with the difference that now it works well on cold days. Would I recommend it? To ginger and anise lovers. Would I use it again? Absolutely, but only if I moved to a cold area with stable temperatures, like where I am now. In conclusion, it’s a pleasant aromatic citrus, but only for winter or very cold autumns.
