Excellent fragrance. If you’re thinking of buying it blind, you won’t regret it. Just don’t pay more than $50 for it.
It’s similar to Vuitton Imagination, but it has a black tea note, almost bitter, that slightly muddies the good scent (an exaggerated trait the original lacks), which can be a pro or con depending on taste. Since I have a sample of the Vuitton, that exaggerated tea note bothers me and turns my nose off to something more acidic, putting me off. Otherwise, the scent is great; the Vuitton is an interesting citrus with good performance (even for me, who isn’t a fan of that perfumery). The longevity is decent, but I don’t see it as a perfume for hot weather; it’s more of a daytime scent for fall and spring. The price isn’t the best in the house, probably due to demand and hype. I recommend trying it without thinking about the original to decide if it suits your taste. Luckily or unluckily, I tested them side by side and decided it’s not essential for my collection. Maybe I’d have Imagination if it cost reasonably, otherwise not (same goes for the rich but expensive Xerjoff Torino 21). Cheers.
NOTABLE.
I want to clarify that I don’t know the original scent of the LV perfume. I didn’t like this one; it reminds me of the sharp smell of dishwashing detergents. Looking for second opinions, I saw a YouTube video by a perfumer who identified the Citral note, which he mentioned is exactly what’s used in dish detergents.
Exquisite.
Every time I wear it, my wife and daughters tell me I smell spectacular. It’s not my favorite scent, but I love hearing that I smell good, and that’s what I got from wearing it. Very happy with the purchase.
This was a blind buy and it smells nice; however, I wouldn’t have bought it if I’d smelled it first. Here in Mexico, there’s a Palmolive soap that smells like mint, and that’s the first thing that came to mind when I smelled this perfume. I do recommend it, but it doesn’t seem to make an impression. I just got it, so I’ll let it macerate to see if it develops.
The opening transported me back in time; it immediately reminded me of Lalique White. Afterwards, the dry-down resembles Imagination. Very good scent, though it doesn’t seem very potent.
It’s a fragrance that brings me a lot of peace; the scent is very rich.
The opening reminded me of Lalique White, and the drydown gets close to Imagination. It’s a really nice scent, though it lacks much projection.
I don’t know the LV, but this has a fresh opening and first half-hour, between aquatic, mint, and a slight citrus hint. It’s like a powdery citrus aftertaste, and then the mint stays more prominent in my perception, something I haven’t found in other fragrances. But it doesn’t quite please me. It lasts 5-6 hours; I’ll test it all summer to see if it performs better. Price in Chile: $30 USD.
Clean, fresh, with a soapy touch and a hint of herbal astringency. I like it, but the performance is just okay; it projects very little. With 7-8 sprays, it lasts about 2 to a maximum of 3 hours. After that, you have to press your nose against your skin to catch that clean, powdery scent until the 4th or 5th hour.
Clean, fresh, slightly soapy, herbal, and astringent. I like it, but the performance seems fair: projection is very moderate. With 7-8 sprays, I notice about 2 hours, max 3 hours. After that, I have to press my nose against my skin to detect a clean, slightly powdery scent until the 4th or 5th hour.
My experience: spectacular opening, but then during the dry-down, I experience what happens with some aquatic perfumes: I feel that egg lettuce smell. I think it’s a component called calone. If I’m not mistaken, it smells super good, but that happens on my skin.
For me, with neutral and alkaline pH, almost 95% of the perfumes I’ve tested stay true to the blotter or improve. Except for this one, which smells like eggs with tea and orange. Other people in my circle find it spectacular: great scent, good trail, projection, and longevity leaning towards moderate, pleasant to wear, and very fulfilling. Too bad it smells bad on me, but that’s just the job, right?
For me, who has a fairly neutral and alkaline pH, almost 95% of the perfumes I’ve tested stay true to the blotter or even get better. Except for this one, which smells like egg, tea, and orange on me. On other people in my circle, it’s spectacular. Good scent, good trail and projection, and decent to moderate longevity. Pleasant to smell in the air and very crowd-pleasing. Pity it smells bad on me, but that’s just the job, right? 😄
I hate it, but don’t get me wrong: I’ve never heard of Imagination or other dupes. It starts with an opening that isn’t very citrusy or very green; I love it, a relaxing scent like a quiet Sunday at home. Then, a few minutes later, an extremely unpleasant egg smell hits, which is a shame because I like the fragrance, but it ruined the experience. The presentation is great, elegant, and luxury ceramic-style. Longevity is 6/10, fresh, lasts about 4 hours, decent for the price ($27). Projection is 6/10; you need to spritz well. Overall 7/10. Because of the egg smell on my skin, don’t buy it blindly, but if you want to freshen up, go ahead.
Hey, to those who say it smells like eggs—it’s not your fault, it’s the perfume! It happened to me too. I sprayed it on my whole family, and they all reacted the same way. Even on clothes. In short: the fault lies with the perfume, not pH or coincidence, because everyone in my family smelled it the same way, even on fabric. If you’re looking for something similar to LV Imagination but without the egg smell, there are better options.
Good afternoon. To everyone who says it smells like eggs, it’s not your problem. It happened to me too. I sprayed it on almost my whole family, and the same thing happened to them. Even on clothes, the egg smell was present. In summary: the problem is the PERFUME, not your pH or coincidence, because everyone in my family got that egg smell, even on fabric. If you want something similar to LV Imagination, there are better options that don’t smell like eggs.
Spectacular scent, totally citrusy with mint and ginger. The downside is it doesn’t last more than 3 hours with a poor trail, but for the price, it’s perfect to reapply without any issues.
Underrated perfume and one of my best surprises. Incredible scent: citrus, fresh, aromatic, and deep. Well-rounded from start to finish. Starts vibrant with citrus, ginger, and herbs, making it refreshing and sparkling. Then it evolves into something elegant with tea and a distinctive aquatic base. Don’t buy it blindly because the tea note is very prominent and might clash with some, but I absolutely love it. Decent longevity, about 4-5 hours with a very nice personal bubble. It doesn’t fill the room, but the scent makes up for it. Revitalizing for enjoying alone. Is it the best dupe for LV Imagination? No, for me it’s Kobra. Is it good? Amazing. Go try it.
Underrated perfume and one of the greatest discoveries I’ve had. Spectacular aroma: citrus, fresh, aromatic, and deep. Round from the opening to the dry down. A vibrant citrus opening accompanied by ginger and herbs that make it refreshing and sparkling. Then the dry down transforms into something elegant with the tea note and the aquatic base that make it distinctive. I don’t recommend it blind because the tea note is very prominent and might clash with some, but I personally like it. Decent longevity, lasting me about 4-5 hours with a very good personal bubble. It’s not for filling rooms, but the fantastic aroma makes up for it. A revitalizing perfume to enjoy on your own. Is it the best dupe for LV Imagination? No. For me, it’s the Kobra. Is it a good perfume? Awesome. I encourage you to give it a try.
