EcoParfum launched Страсти по Эллипсу in 2014 as a woody chypre for women. The fragrance was composed by perfumer Natalia Svetlaya.
It leans woody, aromatic and green, with earthy, mossy and balsamic undertones that give it a dense, forest-floor feel.
Rather than a polished floral chypre, this one reads rustic and resinous. Oakmoss and labdanum set the chypre backbone, while cedar, vetiver and patchouli keep it dry and rooted.
The fresh side pairs bergamot and mandarin with coriander, galbanum, wormwood, thuja and pine — sharp greenery with a camphor-like, herbal edge.
Flowers are present but not sweet: rose, jasmine, honeysuckle and ylang-ylang, softened by iris and lifted by a pinch of nutmeg.
Musk settles the woody-mossy base. Rated 3.03 out of 5 from 58 ratings, it is clearly a divisive scent, built for character rather than easy appeal.
