Eau de Vetyver has a citrus opening that quickly transitions into a mature, classic scent with great staying power. Ideal for lovers of this type of fragrance, especially those who adore vetiver, which can often be quite intense.
The opening is short, but the vetiver with soft cedar feels natural right from the start. Then the guaiac wood and nutmeg blend in, bringing back hints of that delicate lemon from the opening. It starts green and settles into woods with an earthy touch. Of what I’ve tried, it’s the closest to the discontinued and missed Puig—a more refined and polished take on that green-woody style. Perfect for anyone missing the Puig. Here it costs $69 for 100 ml. Moderate sillage, and I’m unsure about the real longevity since this was a blotter test.
Starts with soft citrus, nothing like Givenchy or Guerlain. Then the vetiver comes through, but not overpowering. It’s linear with a mild sillage. After four hours, I don’t smell it on my clothes at all. They say it’s natural and uncomplicated, but I prefer Guerlain or Givenchy.
While my King Vetiver remains the Fat Electrician by Etat Libre d’Orange, this one absolutely crushes Guerlain’s 2000 and Puig. I tested it on skin and paper, and it evolves like a champion—a true masterpiece. Did I mention its drydown is flawless? That’s definitely its strength. Now I get why it’s always in the top 10 vetiver lists on forums. Beyond the citrus and woods, it has a unique ‘nose’ that sets it apart. I WANT IT! Moderate sillage, good longevity, and excellent projection.
