This Dragonfly has a delicate, subtle, and ethereal aroma, and it manages to recreate the habitat of these ephemeral insects: it smells like fresh water, clean air with a floral touch, like being by a lake’s edge in the spring at sunset. It’s a simple fragrance, but very well-made, something nostalgic and different that smells great. Scent: 9 Originality: 10+ Versatility: 9 Quality: 9.5 Price: 7 Sillage: 8.5 Longevity: 8.5 Bottle Design: 10 Overall Rating: 9
I’ve tested it across several seasons, and although the order of the aromas changes, the components are always the same. It’s a wet perfume where the rain is recreated beautifully and usually serves as the opening note (in summer, the heliotrope in the opening gives a baby powder vibe). The opening makes me think of a lilac flower garden after the rain; as it dries, you notice the slight sweetness of cherries and the greenness of clover. The dry down reminds me of Kenzo Amour due to the rice note, but it’s less sweet here. You can detect the musk and amber, but they act as companions to nuance the rice. Projection and longevity depend on the season: in summer, it’s non-existent and lasts no more than 6 hours; in temperate climates, it’s soft but consistent for a few hours, and on the skin up to 8 hours. It’s a lovely aquatic that makes me think of a watercolor of a pond in a meadow with dragonflies flying, ideal for spring, but also for autumn and summer. On my skin, it’s quite feminine and suitable for any daytime occasion, from casual to elegant. Pleasant: 8/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 8/10 Original: 8/10
A very pleasant floral blend (aldehydes?), beautifully combined. At first, it’s a bit creamy and powdery. I can’t pinpoint any note that stands out. It’s a clear, light fragrance. It becomes citrusy before settling on the skin with a warm, comforting, yet still fresh scent. It hits the skin level quickly, so it’s not invasive. It’s tender, lovely, and sweet. Imagine a pink limousine filled with dragonflies in swimsuits moving silently among skyscrapers. I liked it. I’d wear it if I could, and I’d love for others to wear it too.
It reminds me a bit of Panda, with that earthy, salty, and wet base, though here it’s not as pronounced. Unlike that one, this features a powerful, blended floral opening. Yes, it feels powdery and creamy upon application, like those night creams some moms used, which gives it an extra freshness. However, the longevity is poor. Update: It smells VERY similar to Daisy Eau So Fresh, but without that earthy part. (If you’re looking for something similar, this is your option).
Look, don’t buy this blindly. The notes hooked me, but it was a mistake: it contains undeclared ingredients that smell like insecticide. If a dragonfly smelled it, it would die instantly… There’s no trace of a lake, and the ozonic touch is barely noticeable. Maybe the clover and moss give it a wild vibe. Then it softens, becomes wearable, and loses the acidity. The trail and longevity are scarce. Zoologist perfumes are usually original, but this one feels like a Dadaist work in the style of Duchamp, mocking the perfume industry’s multimillion-dollar business.
