Descripción

Bahar by The Spirit of Dubai is a woody oriental fragrance launched in 2015, designed for men and women. Its olfactive pyramid opens with a marine and ozonic explosion that integrates citrus notes such as bitter orange, lime, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine, accompanied by green and fruity notes like apple, pineapple, blackcurrant, strawberry, plum, and cherry, as well as spices and ginger. The heart reveals a spiced and floral bouquet where lotus flower, jasmine, rose, cyclamen, iris, and saffron bloom, supported by sandalwood, cedar, fir, cashmere wood, and vanilla. The base settles on a warm and persistent structure composed of sandalwood, precious woods, amber, musk, vetiver, oud wood, patchouli, and ivy.

A marine-citrus blend (only at the start) and fruity. The longevity and projection are exceptional, and it reminded me of Y Eau Fraiche.

  • Dante_Perfume

It’s a fragrance based on marine, citrus (only at the start), and fruity notes. Longevity and projection are exceptional; it reminded me of Y Eau Fraîche.

  • Odandreatalla

Spectacular perfume; it lasts 3 days on my skin, smells like luxury and elegance wherever I go.

  • Odandreatalla

A spectacular perfume that lasts three days on my skin. Smells like pure luxury and elegance; wherever I go, everyone asks about my scent.

  • Fraganceando_madrid

A brutal, complex, and elegant perfume that screams luxury. It’s resinous, ambered, and aquatic with a floral heart and endless facets. It evolves massively on the skin; even though it’s aquatic, I don’t feel it as fresh, but rather dense and heavy. Perfect for summer or spring nights, but watch out with the sprays or you’ll be suffocating. The longevity is insane (12h+) and the projection is powerful. My favorite from Spirit of Dubai.

A spectacular fragrance. Very complex, elegant, and striking; it oozes luxury everywhere. It’s resinous, ambered, and aquatic, with a floral heart and many shifts. It evolves a lot on skin, and despite being aquatic, I don’t consider it fresh but rather dense and heavy. It’s a marvel for summer or spring nights, but you have to regulate the sprays well or we’ll overwhelm everyone. Longevity is huge (+12 hours on my skin), and the sillage and projection are heavy. My favorite from Spirit of Dubai.

  • I don’t know, I don’t think there are fakes from this house, but it doesn’t last nearly as long as they claim, and it doesn’t seem complex to me; it’s just a fairly normal aquatic/aromatic. Be careful with reviews driven by impulse that cloud judgment: what seems apocalyptic to my senses today could be an outrage tomorrow.

  • Bahar didn’t feel new to me; after months of wearing Gold by Xerjoff, they seem identical. Intensity is the only difference… for me, it’s softer than the Gold. If I have to choose, I stick with Xerjoff. They share many notes. For an aquatic scent, the longevity is moderate on skin but intense on clothes. It’s not new to me; it seems like a clone of the Gold.

  • This is the perfume I wish Tom Ford Oud Minerale had been: a similar scent but much more wearable, alike yet without the exaggeration of the Tom Ford version.

A familiar but improved aroma. I get hints of something I’ve tried before, but the quality and personality stand out. It’s complex, citrusy at the start, then ultra-elegant with spices, marine notes, violet, and some suede. When it dries, it becomes ambered without losing that marine edge, featuring algae and a salty touch. It’s high quality, elegant, and has extreme longevity; summery but usable year-round. Almost everything is good… but the scent is overwhelming and fatiguing. The value doesn’t work for me: extremely expensive and I don’t see much point in owning it. A must-try, but that’s where it ends.

A familiar scent but improved. It reminds me of something I’ve tried before, but the quality and personality shine through. It’s complex, citrusy at first, then ultra-elegant with spices, marine notes, violet, and something that smells like suede. In the dry down, it’s ambered, with algae and a salty touch. High quality, elegant, and with extreme longevity—summery but wearable all year. Almost everything is great… but it smells stronger than I can handle and starts to tire me out. The price-to-quality ratio doesn’t fit me: it’s extremely expensive, and I can’t see why I’d need it. A must-try, but that’s where it stops for me.

Bahar is a beast, a top-tier fragrance where you can tell the quality even if you know nothing about perfumes. It’s citrus/aquatic but with so much more: I smell rose, iris, and fruit. Analyzing it further would get me hired at airports to sniff out drugs. That ‘something extra’ gives it body and elegance. It’s unisex, but women absolutely love wearing it. It’s not for very young people because it commands respect. Maybe the first impression is misleading and seems simple, but you have to let it breathe to see it’s nothing like the rest. The more I use it, the more I enjoy it. It’s wearable year-round, not fleeting; it’s a proper gentleman’s fragrance. You can tell the perfumer learned from Roja; everything smells unified. It lacks the edge of an Acqua di Sale, but it’s ranked high for a reason.

Well, for me, it was a deep and painful disappointment… I’d been wanting to try it for ages, having heard wonderful things. And… it’s not bad, it’s a pleasant, complex summer fragrance that smells expensive, but I expected more. It offers nothing surprising or novel. Unless you’re a die-hard collector or a millionaire spending recklessly, I don’t think it’s for you. Just like it wasn’t for me. There are 3 million other perfumes offering the same (or 90% similar) at much more competitive prices. What does it smell like? Fruity (citrus and pineapple at least), fresh at the start, then a complex dry down, musky, creamy, and with an amber touch. Don’t look at the notes; that pyramid has more layers than Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. I don’t know if it’s an olfactory pyramid or a fruit salad. In short: totally unisex, versatile, fresh for summer, and dense for winter. Scent rating: 8.5. Sillage: ?? I’ve only used a decant, so I don’t know how it smells when sprayed properly. Longevity: 8. Price: 255 euros/50 ml.

A profound disappointment for me… I’d been wanting to try it for a while after reading wonderful things. It’s not bad, it’s a pleasant, complex, and expensive summer scent, but I expected more. It offers nothing surprising or novel. Unless you’re a die-hard collector or a millionaire, I don’t think you’ll like it. There are millions of similar options for less. To me, it smells fruity (citrus and pineapple) fresh at first, then dries down to a complex, musky, creamy scent with an amber touch. Don’t look at the notes; that pyramid has more notes than Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Is it an olfactory pyramid or a fruit salad? In short: totally unisex, versatile thanks to its summer freshness and winter density. Scent: 8.5. Sillage: unknown, only tested a decant. Longevity: 8. Price: 255€ for 50ml.

Thanks to a friend from the Buenos Aires perfume community (Esteban, if you’re reading this, send my regards…) I got to try it, and my take is clear: despite having a ton of notes, it smells like CK One on steroids. Super potent.
