I bought this for the price and the classic Rose-Oud combo, but I was surprised by the beauty of the blend. Despite being linear, the shift in note intensity is gorgeous. It opens with a powerful, natural oud with animalic nuances, over which floats a fresh, velvety rose. Everything rests on a bed of super-refined amber and musk. I’ve tried many of this combo and got tired of the synthetic stuff, but here quality reigns; it’s elegant, sophisticated, and royal. It lasts about 10 hours with moderate sillage. The only downside is that it comes in 40ml. Ideal for cold nights or special events. If you like real oud and not synthetic, it’s a must.

I picked up this fragrance, my first oriental in a collection that’s basically citrus-based. It was too bold. I let myself be swayed by Darkbeat’s good review, and since I’d been wanting an oud cologne for a while (I love the note in YSL M7, but in others like AdP, it seems too strong and usually costs a fortune), I grabbed it at an incredibly cheap price. I have to highlight the packaging, which exposes brands that charge for empty bottles: a 10 for Rasasi for this alone. The rest is a bit of a letdown since I’m not used to these scents and this particular one doesn’t suit me; maybe I need to train my nose. How brave I was to dive into an oriental for the initiated. I’ll stick with my citrus for now, hehe. Anyway, I’m open to suggestions to slowly get into these aromas. If anyone is interested, I have it for a swap in Spain. Cheers and peace. ✌.
Tested this fragrance with a sample from Darkbeat and it’s exquisite. I compared it to Monotheme Rose Oud; although they share notes, they are worlds apart. While Monotheme is pure rose, here the oud stands out, aggressive at first but softening over time, leaving a beautiful dry down. Recommended for unfiltered oud lovers; if you don’t like that scent, don’t try it. Scent: 9, Longevity: 9, Sillage: 7, Value: 10 (saw it for €14 online), Versatility: 6. Overall: 8.
Tested this fragrance thanks to a sample from Darkbeat and I couldn’t agree more: it’s exquisite! I tried it alongside Monotheme Rose Oud, and despite sharing notes, they are worlds apart. While Monotheme focuses on the rose, here what stands out most is the oud, quite aggressive at first as Darkbeat mentioned. At first, it shocked me a bit, but then it softens and the dry down is beautiful. Recommended for oud lovers; if you don’t like that scent, don’t even try it because there are no compromises here. Got a sample and compared it to Dunhill Icon Absolute; while they share similarities, I’m sticking with Dunhill because it’s more versatile, less dizzying, and lighter than Rasasi. Think of Rasasi as drinking a strong, loaded tea, while Dunhill is a more pleasant and aromatic cup—it sits better and is more relaxing.
