Smells like roasted apples with cinnamon and a touch of ash, paired with an oud I absolutely love. It’s neither too tamed nor wild; it lands right in that interesting middle ground. It’s sharp and very lightly floral. A gorgeous fragrance that balances comfort and alertness perfectly.
Mollinard’s Cuir is a bold move from the French house, tackling a note that often sparks love or hate among fragrance lovers. Beyond that dilemma, I’d say Cuir aims to enchant through other attributes, not just the leather, so I wouldn’t recommend it for blind buys. You must try it before committing. I bought it in Nice at the boutique itself; the breeze from the French Riviera really makes the notes shine. I remember a walk along the coast with my wife, both wearing the perfume—it was a wonderful shared moment to see how it glows. If it’s not the leather, what is it? In my view, it has a strong connection to that zone of glamour, outdoor dining, and vibrant social life, where the pleasure of flavors and scents is exquisite, which softens the leather and elevates noble notes like spices and a grateful nutmeg to maintain that glamour and desire. It’s a spicy, noble fragrance achieved exquisitely, integrating peppery, aromatic, and sweet notes from top to heart, making it a versatile olfactory bet. In every moment, you’ll sense different facets, where the leather plays a shy role but, thanks to its origin, adds a very sensual and engaging aroma where all the notes shine.
