  Niche perfumes seem to be trying to escape the dissatisfaction with mainstream fragrance, and they’re gaining more followers. The term ‘niche’ makes me smile; I think it’s a trend driven by profit. Still, they’re usually small productions using unusual ingredients to create creative compositions. Setting aside the price, I’m drawn to trying new things like this Couture Chic by Novellista. What’s interesting is that they base their scents on books to recreate atmospheres, which is hard to pull off. This one is inspired by ‘Souvenirs de Léonard,’ about the hairdresser to Queen Marie Antoinette, who, along with Rose Bertin, brought fashion and hairstyling to the forefront. Amandine Galliano is the creator, and while it’s marketed as unisex, I see it as very feminine. At first, it smells like a cake with neroli, orange blossom, lots of vanilla, and a hint of pink pepper. Iris, patchouli, jasmine, and bourbon vanilla give it a luxurious and sensual vibe. The longevity is average, with a noticeable sillage for about two hours. I liked it, though it’s hard to wear. Thanks to Monsieurleather for the opportunity, and let’s see if I try another from this house that’s truly unisex.

  Floral, soft, and not sweet at all, with no fruity notes. Pink pepper and green notes make a strong impression. It feels elegant and feminine, with a lot of personality. It doesn’t last long, but it’s powerful for the first hour; afterward, it stays close to the skin, just for you. The 10ml size is perfect for carrying in your bag and reapplying. 🧡~
