Finally, I have my Calyx back, now from Clinique. I’m so glad the scent, longevity, and sillage are identical to when it was under Prescriptives. Another gem from master perfumer Sophia Grojsman. I just watched a video where she speaks warmly about how she created it and its notes. What a fantastic fragrance!
What a wonderful fragrance! Now that Clinique releases it, it’s much easier to find. Before, when it was under Prescriptives, I could only get it if someone brought it back from New York for me. It’s an explosion of fruit! On my skin, it lasts a long time and has a wide sillage.

I snagged it at a bargain price, last stock from the Clinique boutique that closed at my usual store. Judging by its condition, it’s from before the Prescriptives-Clinique transition, and I’m happy with the purchase. Calyx is special, another gem from Sophia Grojsman, a master of fruity florals; in short, it’s the tropics in a bottle. As its motto says, it’s an exuberant fragrance. Living in a tropical zone, its notes feel like home: courtyards with fruit trees, paths with mango, papaya, guava, and melon under the sun, villages full of nature and rivers, breakfasts with fresh fruit in humid gardens. Sometimes it smells like the courtyards of evergreen plants releasing their aroma with the breeze. I detect all the notes in those proportions. The base notes, in excellent harmony, only serve as a support to boost the juicy, energetic cocktail of the opening and heart, without overshadowing them. It lifts the mood, provides comfort and freshness; on my skin, it’s not intrusive but noticeable at three paces, leaving a soft yet clear trail in ventilated areas. It lasts more than eight hours. For me, these are familiar aromas, but I think in winter, somewhere else, it would transport me even more to my tropical paradise.
