  Caligna, which in Provençal means to tie or court, is a tribute to the Mediterranean summer: coves, scrubland, juniper, maritime pine, and heather—that vegetation along the paths to the beach (Menorca, Puglia, Greece, Corsica). Every time I try it, I go crazy; it transports me to a hot August afternoon, early in the day, at a countryside house with the earth baking and plants bursting with scent. There’s silence, you lie down in the shade of a pine listening to insects, fig trees releasing an incredible aroma, figs hanging down, and herbs under the scorching sun. Why did you leave so soon, Caligna? Why let yourself be bought out by magnate Antonio Puig, who stripped away all the artistic and beautiful soul of this house? Thanks, Dora. Farewell.

  Caligna smells like green fig with woody notes—less fruity, more rustic—blended with bergamot and a sandalwood base reminiscent of Santal 33. The sage is natural and understated, while the jasmine stays clean and very soft.
