Descripción

Black Sea by Lorenzo Pazzaglia is a fragrance from the olfactive family for men and women, launched in 2019. The nose behind this creation is Lorenzo Pazzaglia. The top notes evoke a coastal atmosphere with sea salt, ozonic notes, aquatic notes, myrtle, and bergamot; the heart reveals a deep marine ambiance with marine notes, sea salt, ylang-ylang, and orange blossom; while the base notes leave a silky, earthy trail thanks to ambergris, seaweed, white musk, oakmoss, and patchouli.

Love at first sight. A work of art that blew my mind: Black Sea. Salty and explosive, a mix of deep sea, salt, and rocks, but not a typical beach scent; it smells like the sea after a nighttime storm, mysterious, elegant, and classy. Smells very expensive, versatile in both cold and heat. Atomic bomb performance: over 12 hours, hurricane trail. Unlike Megamare, no one is offended here; it’s powerful but not intrusive, and people enjoy the aroma. Scent: 10, Quality: 10, Longevity: 10, Projection: 10, Versatility: 9. Price: In Venezuela it’s a 5, very pricey.

Love at first sight. A masterpiece. A friend let me try it and left me breathless: an explosive but incredibly pleasant salty opening. A mix of deep sea, salt, and rocks, but not a typical beach fragrance; it smells like the sea after a nighttime storm, mysterious, elegant, and classy. Smells very expensive, versatile (works in heat and cold), and its performance is an atomic bomb: over 12 hours of longevity and a hurricane trail. Unlike Megamare, this one is made to please; no one is offended, it’s powerful but not intrusive, and people enjoy the scent. Scent: 10, Quality: 10, Longevity: 10, Projection: 10, Versatility: 9. Price: In Venezuela it would be a 5, because it’s hard to find and very expensive.

  • I think people are being misled by all the advertising from certain people with online stores selling this type of perfume. The scent is good, but neither the longevity goes beyond moderate nor the sillage is anything but quite weak. I have Acqua di Sale and Megamare, and they project infinitely more and last much longer than this one.

N7ko Honestly and with all respect, I don’t know what perfume you tested, but if this fragrance has anything, it’s colossal longevity and projection, absolutely nothing to envy from Megamare.

  • Perfumon, longevity, marine scent (much more than Megamare, which is absolutely bombarded with ambroxan), salty; I’d say it maintains that salty little note even in the dry down, though I haven’t tested it further. It’s been 14 hours on skin projecting; price-to-quality ratio is hard to beat. Edit: what a perfume bomb.

I have to take back my previous review and delete it… after several days of use and testing it at different temperatures, my impressions have changed, and I think it’s only fair to share them again… Black Sea isn’t as dark a sea as its name suggests. It’s on that Acqua di Sale line, salty, but with a more floral-salty counterpoint and a great presence of myrtle, algae, and synthetic ambergris. It smells very good; the quality of the composition is very, very good, and the performance is quite curious… if you overdo it with the sprayer, it will cause olfactory fatigue and you’ll turn heads because of how potent it is; three or four sprays are more than enough. I wore it yesterday after my shower around 11:00 PM, and I can still feel it now, and it’s almost 4:00 PM. For me, it’s like the calm after a storm on a sunny day by the sea… and a curious mix between Acqua di Sale and Megamare. Perfumon!!!

  • Wow, the hype it has is well-deserved. This brand is potent and original when it comes to scents. Black Sea is an elegant marine perfume; from the first spray, you know what the fragrance is like since it doesn’t evolve much, but it also doesn’t get tiring. For going to the office, just two sprays get you through the workday; it’s totally up to the task… honestly, it didn’t remind me of either Megamare or ADS… like when a perfume has pineapple and they reference Aventus. Without a doubt, a top 5 of my fragrances.

  • The hype for this brand is totally deserved; they are powerful and original. Black Sea is an elegant marine fragrance: from the first spray you know what it is; it doesn’t evolve much but it doesn’t get boring either. For the office, two sprays cover you all day; it’s totally appropriate. Honestly, it didn’t remind me of Megamare or ADS, just like when a perfume has pineapple and people compare it to Aventus. Without a doubt, a top 5 of my fragrances.

Salty seductress 🤩 It has a distinct opening of myrtle and a few other little flowers; you can clearly smell a clean, sparkling bergamot, pristine, as if all that had been soaked in sea salt all night. The heart maintains that salty note and reveals a curious aroma, subtle and very rich-smelling fruits (I think it’s ylang-ylang). This is where my partner starts getting attracted to the scent trail, which lasts like this almost until the dry down, which smells a bit of algae, salt, like river stones, and something very hidden but light that reminds me of a small waterfall (the little bubbles forming in a river). A very rich fragrance to perceive, and without a doubt, you and your partner will love it, whether you’re a man or a woman. It can be worn from age 18 without any issues 👍🏻😎

This is a marine fragrance like Megamare, but I find it cleaner and more pleasant. It’s a fragrance that has brought me many compliments. For me, it’s a 9.5/10 without a doubt.

  • A marvel in every way. Scent, performance, compliments… Marine, salty, floral, green, and lots of musk. The opening can be overwhelming; the salty notes are more prominent there but not annoying. But the dry down… I’d sum it up as sexy. The name fits perfectly: black sea. It’s elegant, deep, mysterious, sexy. You can feel the energy of the sea on a dark night. It captivates, and captivates. A compliment magnet. It has an incredible staying power on skin, clothes, anything—hours and hours and hours. Over 12 hours. Even though it’s marine and salty, you can wear it all year round, except on very cold days, in my opinion. Its only downside: don’t use it in enclosed spaces. This projects a lot, fills rooms. I’ll definitely buy this bottle. Edit 17/07/25: Time has taken its toll, so to speak; the DNA feels too repetitive. I like it, I have it, and I’ll keep it, but it no longer blows my mind, and as of today, I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • Not sexy, not elegant, not a compliment magnet. It’s a blatant clone of ACQUA DI SALE from 1996. I’d rather not copy something from almost 30 years ago… I stick with Acqua di Sale for its stronger mineral and salty edge.

  • In my case, I expected much more from a perfume and an excessively hyped house. I can’t say it’s a bad scent or that its performance isn’t up to a niche revelation brand; it’s a correct composition that can please the general public. But I believe there are much more interesting marine perfumes, either for the propositional nature of their scents or their nuances: without going further, the already mentioned ‘Acqua di Sale’ (I don’t find them that similar, though they share ingredients), its brother ‘Salaria’ by Giardino Benessere, ‘Phtaloblue’ by Andy Tauer, ‘Wet Stone’ by Amoroud, or the hated and loved ‘Megamare’ by Orto Parisi. On my skin, it results in being too camphoraceous/floral; it’s not annoying and is easy to wear, but I would never define it as ‘compliment-getting,’ ‘attractive,’ ‘fresh,’ or ‘marine.’ Definitely not for me, and that’s even though blue perfumes are an archetype I like to wear. It doesn’t add anything new and doesn’t improve something I already had. A pity, I would have liked to like it, but I’m afraid it won’t be that way.

It’s as if the element of water became perfume: you can smell a deep, wild ocean or crystal clear cascade water. Personally, it calms me, giving a sense of relaxation and purity. Regarding performance, it’s curious: on skin, I feel it for 10 hours, with moderate projection for about 7, but it doesn’t drop below that; it behaves like an extrait. I find it very versatile; you can use it in all four seasons by regulating the trigger, it will never be heavy due to the scent, it lasts and lasts until you get bored, and it stays on clothes for days. It’s very good for compliments; it’s liked by many, especially women. To give you an idea, imagine the smell left after coming out of the sea, mixed with your skin, and add the smell of plastic pools. That’s Black Sea (with a lot of imagination). Longevity 9.5/10, Projection 7.5/10, Trail 8/10, Quality 9/10, Price 6.5/10, Compliments 8/10. Great perfume suitable for blind buy if you like aquatics, a gem from Pazzaglia.

  • Having tried several of Lorenzo Pazzaglia’s ‘Seas,’ they all tend to blend together in my head since some are very similar. If I had to keep just one, it would be Artik Sea (note: none have captivated me completely). Black Sea is excessively marine and nothing else, without nuances, a bit ‘in your face’. Zafia… I can’t think of an appropriate context, perhaps an oceanographic expedition? Totally masculine. Good longevity, but the trail is a bit short.

I’m not a huge fan of marine fragrances, so this is one of the hardest reviews to write from the Discovery Set. Despite them not being my favorites, I found some that captivated me, like Megamare by Orto Parisi or The Saint Mariner. However, this perfume hasn’t captivated me. It hasn’t disgusted me either, and I think it has enough distinguishing elements to not give it a bad note. It’s just a ‘good one’. Grey amber, musk, salt, neroli, and moss would be its key. Within its aquatic charge, it presents a dark side and slightly animalic note, probably due to the grey amber and musk. The blend with moss produces a scent similar to seaweed, green and salty. The performance is moderate for an extrait: powerful opening that drops to medium projection lasting about 6 hours. It doesn’t resemble Megamare; it’s more in the line of a concentrated Acqua di Gio Profumo with the citrus removed. It’s not a fragrance I’d buy, but I recognize the high quality. If you like this type of perfume, try it, but avoid buying blindly: the performance isn’t that good on many skin types, it’s not a standard marine fragrance, and it has nothing to do with Megamare. Perhaps the one I like least from Lorenzo Pazzaglia’s marine collection.

  • Navacerrada83

A cheap blend to plagiarize two great perfumes. It smells like Aqua di Sale at first and Megamare in the dry down. That’s it. All of L. Pazzaglia’s perfumery is based on other well-known perfumes. That said, the performance is out of this world, but nothing else.

  • Wow! I’m fascinated by this fragrance; it’s one of those that creates an addiction. It reminds me a lot of Acqua di Sale, but with more sea and a bit fresher. My wife thinks it’s too sweet, just like the AdS, and I found it sweet at first too, but the myrtle has finally won me over. I’m hooked! Anyway, I find them a bit dense for very hot days, though I admit I haven’t had much experience with that yet. Projection and longevity are very good, among the best.

  • I’d call this fragrance an ‘autumnal ocean,’ northern and dark. It starts with the ocean and the salt of the early hours before revealing spicy and vegetal notes that mimic moss on rocks and the beach. Its longevity and projection are among the best I’ve tried, even on clothes, especially for winter. In my opinion, the entire line explores both cold and warm oceans. You should try them before buying, especially if you’re not attached to marine scents. P.S.: I don’t understand the ‘synthetic’ label, especially compared to perfumes like Club de Nuit or Qaed Al Fursan.

  • The fragrance man

Hello everyone. I was looking for another spring and summer fragrance and recently bought BS. Its scent is truly impressive, distinct, unique, and elegant. Perfect for this season, though it adapts to any time of year. A 10/10.

  • I love them; it’s like an ‘autumnal ocean’ from the north: dark and salty at first, then releasing spicy and herbal notes that smell like moss on wet stones. Longevity and projection are brutal, even noticeable on winter clothes after washing. I think the whole line explores different oceans, cold and warm. Note: try before buying if you’re not a fan of marine scents. P.S.: I don’t understand why they call it synthetic; it smells natural, unlike things like Club de Nuit or Qaed Al Fursan, which are truly synthetic.

  • Prometeus

A clean, soapy marine fragrance. The ‘Sea’ scents are very similar. It reminds me of a midnight sea, tranquil and pure. It’s penetrating but not overwhelming like Megamare might be. Watch out for the trigger; two sprays are enough for the whole day. If you’re looking for the version most similar to Megamare, it’s Artik Sea, which has nuclear longevity. My favorites: Black Sea and Artik Sea.

  • Penetreitor 2000

I absolutely love it, I love it, I love it! I’d keep this perfume for the rest of my life without hesitation. The potency is top-notch, and the scent fascinates me; I’d wear it every day because I feel a deep connection to it. Very marine, radiant, and delicious. Every time I wear it, I get positive comments; everyone enjoys it. I adore Black Sea, the best perfume I’ve had in a long time. Congratulations, Lorenzo.

A calmer sea than Megamare. A more refined and rounded aroma than Gualtieri, which is cruder. Here there’s nothing beachy or festive, nor the human presence of a party at the spa; this is marine contemplation, from inside the sea, not far from the coast, maybe in a boat on calm waters on a semi-cloudy day. A great option to appreciate from another perspective within this megamare style. A scent for personal enjoyment, for intermediate seasons and daytime, with much more tranquility and serenity, without the aromatic invasiveness of Orto Parisi. I note it as unisex without issues. It has great skin longevity and correct projection. Give it a try.

  • Wow… where do I even start with this masterpiece? Black Sea hits the spot. Depending on how you spray it, the notes that stand out for about two hours are ozone and bergamot. It literally smells like ozone, like those old meat locker cleaning machines or room deodorizers. That’s the opening, watch out. As it settles, the sharp citrus of bergamot and salt emerge, but not wet salt, just salt. Once the projection fades, which is spectacular, the sea shines through: those vast marine touches, the smell of salt in the middle of nowhere with a little boat, even like a pedal boat inside the water. All with a floral base; ylang-ylang fits perfectly, but orange blossom gets skipped. When it settles further, the salt becomes noticeable, algae appear, along with ylang-ylang, patchouli, maybe a white musk, and something mossy. The algae give a curious salty touch: it’s not the smell of low tide on stagnant water; it’s very clean. Longevity: +12h on skin, 2 to 6 days on clothes. I wore it last week on a dirty shirt and it still smells of patchouli and algae. The season is spring, summer, and early autumn when it can handle the heat. A day and night perfume; it projects insanely with an unusual scent and makes you stand out among all the Creed Aventus or Acqua di Gio. It’s for adults; it doesn’t suit a guy 20 or under, no matter how many nautical tattoos they have. It’s for people in their late 20s and up. Unisex due to the ozone, but once it settles, it leans masculine. Certainly don’t wear it for dinner or lunch; this is for standing out, for filling rooms, elevators, and dining halls. Outdoors, it’s perfect and you don’t overwhelm anyone. It’s for going out and saying ‘here I am.’ €145 for 50ml, I’d say expensive, but with three sprays it lasts a lifetime, so the price is moderate in the end. In short: the sea in a bottle, a sea that deceives by seeming clean at first but deep and dangerous later. A sea that makes you stand out from the norm, provoking people to ask ‘what are you wearing, you smell different and good.’ A sea that lasts and lasts.

  • This is a perfume masterpiece, a man all grown up. My wife told me it ‘smells like a barbershop,’ and for me, it’s perfectly a signature scent. I’m still testing its longevity.

  • Wow… where do I even start with this masterpiece? Black Sea hits the spot. Upon spraying, ozone and bergamot stand out for about two hours; it literally smells like ozone, like those old machines used to deodorize butcher shops or large rooms. Then comes the sharp bergamot and dry salt, not the wet salt of the sea. After the spectacular projection fades, the sea shines: those touches of infinite water, the smell of salt in the middle of nowhere with a little boat, or even with a hydrofoil inside the water. Accompanied by floral base notes, the ylang-ylang is perfect, though the neroli goes unnoticed. As it settles, you notice the salt, the algae, more ylang-ylang, patchouli, a white musk, and something mossy. The algae give a curious salty touch: not the smell of stagnant low tide, but very clean. Longevity: +12h on skin and 2-6 days on clothes (I put it on dirty clothes and it still smells like patchouli and algae). Ideal for spring, summer, and early autumn. It’s suitable for day and night, projects an absolute beast with an unusual scent that makes you stand out from Creed Aventus and Acqua di Gio. For adults, not for 20-year-old guys. Unisex due to the clean ozone, but leans masculine as it settles. Not for dinner, it’s for making a statement and filling rooms or being outdoors without overwhelming. For going out and saying “here I am.” 145€ for 50ml is pricey, but with three sprays it lasts a lifetime, so ultimately the price is moderate. In summary: the sea in a bottle, clean at first but deep and dangerous afterwards. It makes you stand out and provokes people to ask what you’re wearing.

  • It’s such a ‘Beast Mode’ beast that I don’t like it; it’s excessively invasive. One spray in the air in a living room lingers for a couple of hours. Insane, not for me.

  • JihyoChaeyoung

It smells exactly like Atlas by Lattafa, with similar longevity and projection. I bought it blind and it was a terrible mistake; it makes my partner nauseous. I don’t see it for summer, more like spring or autumn. Edit: Trying it today, the scent has changed quite a bit, softer now. Anyway, I won’t say much. I’ll let it rest and macerate; in a month we’ll test again and give a verdict, as it seems I received a very new batch or maybe one that was poorly transported.

  • Ever since I heard about Black Sea by Lorenzo Pazzaglia, my expectations were through the roof. You know what? They didn’t crash, nor did they soar higher; they’re floating exactly where they should be. Is it good? Yes. Is it surprising? Sometimes. Is it worth it? Let me tell you. The first impression is curious: *bam!* It hits you with a subtle salty note, like opening a seashell. Mysterious, almost cinematic. Then it shifts: that sweet sea breeze of a late afternoon arrives, a warm wind caressing the skin. It has that elegant darkness of its name, but it’s not creepy; it’s sophisticated, like a black suit over tanned skin. It’s salt, sweetness, musk, and it has power, but it doesn’t crush. Unlike Megamare, this invites you to look at the horizon with a drink in hand. Does it attract? Yes, I think it appeals to women seeking character without being invasive. It’s not the typical ‘sweetie’ nor a sea monster. It’s an exotic cocktail: interesting and memorable. Totally unisex: I see it on an elegant girl or a man in white linen. Should I recommend it blindly? It depends. If you have experience with niche or intense scents, yes. If you’re new or have a sensitive nose, a decant is better. It has potency and penetrating nuances. In short: marine soul, elegance, and mystery. If you want to evoke the sea without going savage, sweetness without cloying, and projection without suffocating, this could be your favorite. But it’s not for everyone; you need attitude. If you’re unsure, a decant is your best friend. Will I buy it? Very likely. I loved it. It smells like a sunset by the sea and fulfilled promises. Sail at your own risk. Scent: 8, Originality: 10, Sillage: 9.5, Projection: 10, Longevity: 10, Versatility: 6.

  • CristianPF

Black Sea by Lorenzo Pazzaglia is a gem. I tried the whole line, and this is my favorite. I was surprised by its longevity and projection: despite being a marine scent, it lasts hours on the skin. It transports me to my favorite spot: sipping limoncello at sunset in Sicily. Notes of sea salt, orange blossom, ylang-ylang, and ambergris carry the entire journey. Even after showering, I still smell like the sea, as if it’s a second skin. Don’t over-spray, or it can get heavy, but with balance, it’s a 10/10.

  • fouriouscat2

A shower gel on steroids. Hyper-masculine, pure beast. Black Sea is a marine bomb that demands attention. Brutal projection and dominant presence. For me, being young, it didn’t quite fit; it has a dark, mature character that’s difficult for many to handle. It smells like the open ocean, salty water with algae, and a base of ambergris. Low on citrus, intense, and suffocating—great for some, overwhelming for others. It’s well-made and leaves a trail: salty, marine, slightly animalic with an unexpected sweetness. It’s not for everyone; it’s an aggressive experience. I think it suits people in their 30s or 40s better, but right now, with the heat, it’s not for me.

  • I liked it, but I wouldn’t wear it myself. It’s not for everyone and lacks versatility. At 28, it doesn’t suit me, though I can see it aging well on my skin in about 10 years.

  • To me, this perfume is the sea, but not the postcard version of sun and sand. It’s an open, wild, stormy, and abstract ocean. Not everyone will like it; it doesn’t smell ‘expensive,’ it smells memorable, authoritative, and mysterious. It’s a true work of art in perfumery.
