  • I love this perfume. The first spray smells like La Petit Robe Noire, but with much riper cherries and less liquor-like notes. Although nuts aren’t listed in the notes, I get an almond scent to it. It smells exactly like ripe cherries with toasted almonds and a touch of pink rose. It’s an elegant and sophisticated fragrance, perfect for snuggling up on cold days. Longevity on skin is about 12+ hours, projecting strongly at first and then moderately. P.S.: You can tell it’s made with high-quality ingredients.

  • I’m not sure if Adopt perfumes generally have this issue, or if the ones I bought are just expired (like Wild Affair, which was awful; it made me wish I didn’t have a nose or had COVID, and had nothing to do with what the name suggests). However, this one gives me a strange, off note right upon spraying that shouldn’t be there. The good news is that after a few minutes of drying down, that annoying note fades, and that’s when I actually enjoy it. The opening is unpleasant as I mentioned: lots of alcohol with a cherry scent similar to Lolita Lempicka, but accompanied by plastic. I don’t really detect the citrus notes. After a few minutes, vanilla starts to emerge, followed gradually by rose and violet talc, as the geranium becomes more dominant before fading away. The dry down is a soft, powdery vanilla. I feel this is better for cool nights or winter/autumn days. I’m not sure if it’s similar to Guerlain since I don’t own one yet, but it reminds me of Guess Seductive Noir (highly recommended) during the drying phase, which is also considered a dupe for Mon Guerlain. Longevity is like a good EDT; generally, I feel Adopt scents don’t last as long as EDPs, and compared to Guerlain, even less so, since those last forever. It’s well known that Adopt makes inspirations, dupes, or whatever you want to call them, of other perfumes. In my country (Chile), the cost is approx. $5.5 for 10ml, $14.5 for 30ml, and $31.5 for 100ml. So it’s a good alternative to higher-priced perfumes, but I feel that for 30 dollars, you can sometimes find scents that last much longer. I bought them out of curiosity and because the brand is available in my country, and that’s the conclusion I reached.
