  Aurore Nomade is that imaginative and playful work we’ve come to expect from Bertrand Duchaufour. It brings a floral-fruity scent with a sea breeze vibe. I was worried it might be a cloying overripe banana perfume, but it’s the opposite: more like a delicate, pleasant ‘banana water,’ refreshed with acidic fruit notes and wrapped in a marine aroma. The drydown isn’t as exciting as the opening, but it still offers moments of pleasure with spicy nuances. Overall, it smells like summer—perfect for bright days, evoking cheerful beach paradises. It’s not too sweet and feels cleaner than I expected. What disappoints me is the longevity: it starts strong, letting you smell all the ingredients, but within an hour it fades to skin scent. They say it’s due to a reformulation to cut costs and that it was magnificent before; if true, Different Company executives are scoundrels for ruining this masterpiece. Still, I loved it, and I hope the full bottle performs better than the sample.
