  Well, at the only store in the country carrying this niche brand, they finally caught on and set up some makeshift testers (three little holes) for the three fragrances in The Different Company’s L’Esprit Cologne collection: Limón de Córdoba, Sienne d’Orange, and this one. First off, I want to own it. Second, it’s authentic; along with Demeter’s Dandelion, it’s one of the only ones featuring dandelion as the star—a wild, rough flower that isn’t for everyone (not even for me), but its commonality makes the scent truly unique. On Fragrantica, forum users prefer this over Demeter’s for its deeper, more complex evolution, which is true (I’m talking about Tokyo Bloom). Honestly, I get more of a feminine vibe than a masculine one, but I’d definitely wear it. The basil is very present, giving it that subtle touch (I have basil plants at home and know them well), and the middle notes, though I only tested it on blotter paper, are noticeable almost instantly without overshadowing the dandelion or the basil. I still haven’t identified the blessed black currants found in other fragrances. The base notes are common to thousands, but this one starts and ends with the dandelion. I’d buy it just to own this perfumery curiosity, which I’m sure will spark some interesting conversations. P.S.: I don’t know why they dedicated it to Japan and specifically Tokyo; in fact, Persia, modern-day Iran, came to mind.
