  The illustrious Maurice/Carbonell has released a scent reminiscent of his Alexandria II. To me, it feels softer and less potent; I barely smell it unless I hold it right up to my nose. Given that it’s the same perfumer as Croxatto, I’m not surprised. The aroma has that oriental vibe that conjures images of sand, with a soft rose-oud combo, a touch of warm woody notes, and a hint of sweetness. The worst part (aside from performance) is that on my skin, the dry-down develops a very acidic note with a vinegar-like edge. At first, I thought it was just that day, but I’ve tested it multiple times at the counter and got the same result. On the blotter, it smells much more pleasant and elegant. Vinegary note, price around 180 euros, average performance, made by Carbonell. Thumbs down, au revoir!
