I grew up less than 500 meters from the Mediterranean. Even though we’d escape in the family Renault 18 during summer to a rustic farmhouse near the sea, surrounded by rosemary, thyme, lavender, olive trees, figs, and vines under a scorching sun, those scents are burned into my memory. This fragrance captures them almost photographically. It’s a pure budget pick, with an opening that feels like an overly alcoholic Italian cologne, which I think is its weakest phase; after 10 or 15 minutes, the alcohol fades to reveal those coastal notes over a citrus base with a salty touch. Its evolution is quite timid and the performance is just average, typical for a budget EDT. I don’t think I’ll buy it again because there are better options at this price point. However, I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon a scent with such evocative potential for that chapter of my life.
