It reminds me of a baby cologne; I expected to smell more orange blossom, but in the drydown, it becomes more bitter. Still, it’s excellent quality, has good longevity, and is very summery.

  • Last summer (January-February here), I discovered this along with Verde d’Arancia; in my city, they only brought Arancia, Zagara, Bergamotto, and Limone. I was surprised by the quality: I expected something simple, but they have great texture and feel well-crafted. I didn’t test them on skin to comment on longevity, but I took them home. The bottles are beautiful, and I know many would love them as gifts. Zagara is orange blossom in Italian; the drydown reminded me of Estée Lauder’s Private Collection Eau, with that green note amidst the fleshy whiteness of the blossoms. The drydown didn’t disappoint, unlike other orange blossoms that end up flat. The treatment of the neroli/orange blossom is classic but flawless. I know nothing about this house, but I don’t understand how they don’t have more renown in Argentina; to my taste, they fit right in with Annick Goutal’s citrus line.

  • It’s fresh and not ugly, but there are thousands of better options that are similar. I wouldn’t buy it unless it was a gift.

  • I was hoping for orange blossom and neroli scents, but this Monotheme Zagara disappointed me hugely. It doesn’t smell like neroli or orange blossom; instead, it’s a very chemical, synthetic orange, like a flavored medicine or a low-cost polo shirt with an orange scent. A failed blind buy.

As per other reviews: if you’re looking for natural orange blossom and bitter orange, skip this cologne. It smells like Portuguese Sumol orange soda: medicinal, caramel-like, sweet, and artificial. Total letdown.

Hey everyone, it smells like the leaves of an orange tree. While it doesn’t last long on the skin or project much, if you spray it on your clothes, it stays with you all day. I love it because it transports me to a garden where I’m breaking off orange leaves, tucking them in my pocket, and enjoying the scent later.
