  • I received it a week ago at Harrods, the official distributor for Thomas Kosmala. I fell into the trap of reviews and YouTubers again. The Brits write wonders, but the opening is alcoholic, like ‘cheap trash’, dries down to a vague fresh-fruity scent, and lasts a maximum of two hours on the skin. Projection is non-existent with 7 sprays; it’s like watered-down Zara clones but 15 times the price. I feel scammed. Either it was reformulated when it launched in 2018, or Harrods sold me a cat for a hare. Share your experience; I’ll edit this if anything changes with my first TK.

Agree with ‘denis2g’. I like the scent and enjoy it, but it’s not the beast in terms of projection and longevity that people claim. If I hadn’t bought it from the official store, I would have thought it was a pirate bottle. After letting it settle for three weeks, it improved, but not to the level of the YouTube videos. I contacted Thomas Kosmala and the platforms, but got no response. I hope whoever buys it doesn’t go through this. Yes, it’s more masculine and less animalic than the BKR540.

Mmm… I tried a decant I bought recently and honestly, I also fell for the promotion that YouTubers do as a beastly fragrance that shakes your nose, and even that the shirt you wear to put on this perfume will become exclusive to this scent because the smell will never come off… The opening I barely perceived and I couldn’t notice any special scent. As time passed, I felt a subtle fruity dry down, like guavas in syrup, with a touch of parsley and faint tobacco. I expected much more from this fragrance, but maybe they reformulated it or it’s overvalued. For me, it was a disappointment at first sniff, since I don’t believe in that magic of a colossal perfume. I even found it similar to Sukimuki, only this one is worth 5 times less.

  • I just acquired it and honestly, the potency has left me amazed. It’s not a strong scent like Interlude by Amouage, rather it’s subtle and the dry down becomes sweet, identical to BR540. But it’s stuck on a shirt; even after washing it, it remains. For connoisseurs, it could easily be a 9.5 out of 10, but for me, it’s too much sweet fire power, slightly powdery, and musky. Do not buy blindly or jokingly. I give it a 7.5.

  • Indeed, it resembles BR540, but spicier… To my BR540, it seems a sweet, metallic, sharp, and plastic scent. To that description for Après l’Amour, I just have to add spiced. So my description of Après l’Amour is: sweet, metallic, sharp, plastic, and spiced. To everyone who loves this scent, forgive me and don’t take offense at what I’m about to write: it seems like a HORRIBLE and STRANGE perfume to me. My respects to those for whom this perfume smells good on their skin. On my skin and for my nose, this is horrendous. Already, the mere fact that it resembles another STRANGE perfume like BR540 was a disappointment. Fortunately, I tested both Après l’Amour and BR540 in 10 ml decants and avoided the significant expense of buying them. I’m in several perfume lover groups where people post reviews of their purchases and obviously it generated anxiety for me to try and buy those two. Thank god there are people who sell by milliliter and I avoided spending my money on something I HATED.

Just received it today… I’ve barely tested it, so I don’t know yet about the fixative and longevity; I put it on an hour ago and it still smells the same. Rich, subtle, soft, fresh, and ambered. I didn’t detect the neroli or lemon, but overall, I like it. It reminds me of and seems like Le Labo’s Another 13 in the opening and dry-down. I don’t dislike it. I read several unhappy reviews here, which is strange, but I think every skin and pH tells a unique story. Everyone smells different. I’m happy; let’s see how it evolves. I’ll rewrite to say longevity is muuuuch good, projection is soft but always there. I put it on at 8pm and slept happily, as I could smell my perfume in various moments of the night. This doesn’t always happen. It’s a very good perfume; I hope more people have a good experience.

I just received this fragrance today… I barely tested it, I don’t know yet how good the fixation and longevity are, since I applied it an hour ago and it still smells like at the beginning. Rich, subtle, soft, fresh, and ambered. I didn’t feel the bergamot or lemon… But overall, I like it. It reminds me and seems like Another 13 by Le Labo in the opening and part of the dry down… I don’t dislike it at all. I read several reviews here, most were unhappy. It’s strange, but I think every person and their pH make any perfume a unique story. It surely smells different in all of them. Not just this one, all of them. I’m happy, let’s see how it evolves in a few more hours. I’m rewriting to say that its longevity is muuuuch good: soft projection but it’s always there. I put it on at 8 pm and slept very happy, because in several moments of the night I could perceive my perfume. And this doesn’t always happen. It’s a very good perfume, I hope more people have a good experience with it.

  • I received it just a few days ago. It has an air similar to Mancera Instant Crush, but Thomas Kosmala took the win in longevity. I applied it at 7 am and visited a friend at 3 pm; we were outdoors and I was in the car. As soon as I stepped out of the car, he said: ‘wow, you’re not kidding’ (an expression of amazement). ‘What perfume are you wearing?’ I told him it was Thomas Kosmala 4 and he said it smells very strong. Honestly, after a while of applying it to my skin, I stop smelling it. I like it, it has a pleasant scent, but it can cause olfactory fatigue. My mother-in-law said: ‘I’m trying to decipher the aroma but I can’t understand what it smells like’. In conclusion, it’s a fragrance that makes a statement and has a pleasant aroma. If you already have Mancera or something similar, I don’t recommend buying it much, unless you’re a huge fan of that scent. They’ve told me Kalan smells like that line, but honestly, I don’t know it.

After reading so many varied reviews, I took a chance and bought it blindly, and I’m happy. I’m sure it causes olfactory blindness for many people, but for me it’s the opposite: it’s a cheerful, potent aroma with huge sillage and beastly longevity. It doesn’t resemble my beloved Instant Crush or my BR540 decant. On my skin, it opens with a fresh citrus note, evolves quickly into spicy woods with a balanced sweetness that makes it addictive. I perceive the musk as high quality. Completely recommended for those who love olfactory challenges, as it behaves differently on every pH. Without a doubt, I’ll buy it again when I run out. P.S. I ordered Kosmala Number 5 (Frenesie) blindly, let’s see if it captivates me.

After reading so many varied reviews, I took a blind leap and bought it, and I’m happy. I’m sure some people might suffer from olfactory blindness, but in my case, it’s the opposite: a cheerful, potent scent with a huge trail and beastly longevity. It doesn’t resemble my Instant Crush or my BR540 decant. On my skin, it opens citrusy and fresh, evolves quickly into spicy woods with an addictive, balanced sweetness. The musk is high quality. Recommended for scent challenges; it behaves differently on every skin. I’ll definitely buy it again. P.S. I ordered Thomas Kosmala Number 5 (Frenesie) blind; let’s see if it captivates me.

  • It’s an Instant Crush ‘Perfume Extract’. It lasts forever and clothes get soaked in it, even after washing. The scent is sweet, sweet, sweet. I think it causes olfactory fatigue; after 2 hours I can’t perceive it anymore. If it’s worth it, yes. My bottle, which was at 97%, started forming something like sugar inside, you can see it, I don’t know what it is. I feel it getting more intense every time, I don’t know why…

  • I bought it blindly because of its fame and it was a mistake… it’s not for everyone. I knew it was synthetic, but I thought the ingredient quality would make a difference. It’s an extreme synthetic; it smells too much like plastic, to me it even smelled like gel antibacterial alcohol. It’s deceptive: at first it smells like burnt sweetness with an alcoholic touch, but over time it turns citrusy with lots of alcohol. I started liking it and ended up hating it; I used it 3 times and sold my nearly new bottle. It’s a very annoying scent, only suitable for open-air places. The longevity and sillage are enormous. Definitely, you have to smell it before buying.

  • Another BR540 inspiration (there are already plenty). Unlike Aventus, these versions are more versatile, revolving around sweetness and the feminine/masculine side. This one is a bit more citrusy and masculine, with better longevity and projection, which is why I rate it well. It would be the best if they didn’t overdo the formula and cause olfactory fatigue. Is the goal to wear a scent I don’t perceive but others do? Yes, compliments, but for personal pleasure, they take a back seat. Would I buy it again? If not for the common scent and fatigue, yes, but with those two points, no. I’ll try to sell it losing as little as possible; its hype is way higher than it should be.

  • Another BR540 inspiration (as if there weren’t enough already). Unlike Aventus, BR540 inspirations are more versatile, revolving around its sweetness, its feminine/masculine side, etc… This one is slightly more citrusy than others I’ve found and a bit more masculine. Its longevity and projection are better too, which is why I give it a good rating. It would be the best BR540 inspiration if not for the fact that they went too far in the formulation and cause olfactory fatigue. What’s the point of wearing a fragrance I can’t perceive while everyone else can? Yes, I know, compliments, but for those who wear fragrance for personal pleasure, that takes a back seat. Would I buy it again? If not for its already common scent and the olfactory fatigue issue, yes. But given those two key points, no; in fact, I’ll be trying to sell it to lose as little as possible. Its hype is way higher than it should be, considering it’s just an inspiration.

  • There’s a lot of talk about this perfume, so I ordered a decant to try it. I hated it. First, it smells VERY alcoholic, then it has a caramelized note, but not in a good way. In fact, I got nauseous when I smelled it too much. That said… it projects massively and has huge sillage. It’s a powerful perfume, just not my style. Every nose is different, but this definitely isn’t for me.

  • Roymaster10

I genuinely loved it. It’s a scent you don’t commonly smell, elegant with bestial longevity. Buy blind and be amazed.

  • GerardoPerales

More feminine than masculine. Eternal longevity, giant sillage. As for the scent, it’s not to my taste. I tried it in a decant and have worn it for several days, but it just doesn’t click. It smells quite strong at first, but becomes more bearable once it dries down.

  • Totally similar to Orientica Amber Rouge. Bestial longevity, bestial projection, bestial sillage. It’s totally unisex, leaning slightly feminine.

  • Marcosvldzr1

This is a beast mode in every sense. It has BR540 DNA, but to me, it adds a slightly effeminate touch. I love it; I use it and it doesn’t cause olfactory fatigue. I see it as very versatile and haven’t had issues wearing it in heat, though I’d recommend it more for cooler climates.

  • I’m trying to remember what this smells like. Lately, I can’t detect it at all. I think my receptors for this fragrance’s molecules are damaged. It’s a really weird thing that’s happened to me with this perfume.

  • 1Alexandra@

It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s nose-tiring for those around me. It doesn’t quite smell like BR540 to me; feels more unisex with a masculine vibe. A colleague uses it, and here’s the kicker: it’s a BEAST. So intense people noticed; we work in healthcare where scents should be discreet, almost invisible to patients… she didn’t get it until someone actually yelled at her. She’d just walk in and we’d know she was there, even a day after she left.

Perfume with nuclear projection and trail. I’ve tried many ‘beast mode’ fragrances, and none have the power of this one. As soon as I spray it, I’m enchanted by its opening, but after 30 seconds I stop smelling it; every 2 or 3 hours I get intense bursts. This perfume caused headaches, discomfort, and dislike in my circle (family, friends) when I used 5 sprays; now I only use 2. The scent isn’t easy to explain here: I recommend testing it before buying at full price. It has much of the BR540 DNA, but its dry-down takes a very different turn; here there are no middle grounds, you either love it or hate it. This fragrance invades everything: it stays in your car, your bed, your closet, your room, and every place you pass through. IMPORTANT EDIT: I can’t smell it anymore, but I managed to detect it on a shirt in the laundry basket that had been there for two weeks; HOWEVER, people still smell it even with just one spray 10 hours later; they say it’s perceived very strongly. This perfume is too deceptive.

  • I’ve tried little of the 540; this one leans more masculine and easily lasts over 12 hours on skin with a brutal trail. The first few times, it gave me mild headaches. If you want a more affordable version of the 540, there’s the Armaf Untold option, which is very similar to these two and the N°4, but there’s a difference in dry-down and longevity: Untold doesn’t last more than 5-6 hours and caused me olfactory fatigue after a few months; the N°4 gave me fatigue on the first day at 4 hours, so I stopped smelling it, but others still noticed it.

  • Totally disappointed. The many good reviews on this and other platforms led me to a blind purchase I thought would be a resounding success, but it wasn’t. Poor notes, leaves a skin scent like a magazine splash, fades in minutes, no more than an hour, and it’s almost imperceptible. To my taste, it’s a heavy fragrance that floods the room; what remains on clothes after washing is Blue Lavender Bakhoor. Of course, not everyone likes the same thing.

  • It doesn’t last and it doesn’t smell. The 2023 Bach, they said it was a nuclear scent 😂😂😂😂, but the reformulations left nothing of what it used to be.

  • A nuclear bomb (2021 batch). Extremely chemical perfume (like most of today’s) with the particularity of having that extra performance and projection. Basically, there’s BR540 DNA here, EDP, because the extract has many more nuances. It opens with characteristic citrus and dries down with the sweetness of the BR540. It’s not complex; it’s more of a reinterpretation: more powerful, longer-lasting, and masculine. If you’re looking for a feminine version, there’s already the N° 4 Candy. Otherwise, it’s for lovers of this famous aroma, with one-third the price and double the punch. Be careful, they say current versions don’t have the same potency.

  • Smells great and lasts a long time, about 8 hours on skin and clothes until washed. It’s less sweet than a BR 540.

  • French-made version. I’m not sure if it projects or at what distance, but I can assure you that once it dries, the scent stays marked on your nose. I feel it calmly for 10 hours. The note that stands out most is amber; although it’s unisex, my wife and daughters didn’t like it, but I was 100% satisfied.

  • If you say ‘it smells like nothing’ or ‘it doesn’t last,’ you’re wrong. I’ll tell you: you’ll stop smelling it after a few minutes; it’s so strong it causes olfactory fatigue. It’s very good, but not for every occasion or for year-round use. It’s one of the brand’s best options.

  • Smells like waking up in bed wrapped in white sheets with your soulmate. The trail and longevity are powerful. Beware of olfactory fatigue, because if you over-spray, you’ll fill the room with cotton candy-like scent. Don’t buy blindly; it can be overwhelming for some people.

  • I call it second skin with a subtle spicy touch, like saffron or very soft pink pepper. It’s that scent you don’t notice, but everyone else does. I wore it to a work dinner and thought I was odorless, but a friend asked what perfume I was wearing. I put it on at 8 am, and at 2 pm a colleague told me it smelled like I’d just applied it. It’s perfect for me: I want to smell good, but I’m sensitive to many perfumes; this is literally harmless because you don’t feel it, but the people around you do.
