I have wonderful memories of this popular fragrance: for a ridiculous price, you got an incredible value-for-money cologne. That’s not the case anymore. In my mind, it was fresh and transparent; now it’s practically invisible. That watery watermelon, that subtly woody and citrusy green, you have to imagine it, because now Agua de Luna is just water with blue dye. The notes are barely noticeable; it’s something inexpressive, a dissolution of what wasn’t even an intense juice to begin with, though we must admit, its magical naturalness and simplicity captivated us decades ago. There are super-perfumes that have survived reformulations more dignifiedly, like Senteurs Fraîches de Eau Jeune or the Herbíssimo line. This hasn’t happened with Agua de Luna, and I’m really sad about it.

It was my grandmother’s daily cologne for years; I used to steal it because it smelled so good. She’s a huge fan of colognes. To me, it smells a bit like watermelon in an aquatic sense, not sweet. It’s a curious and youthful combination. Suitable for everyday wear and very refreshing. I miss that rich scent so much; maybe I’ll buy it for myself after a shower. I remember it didn’t last many hours, and a coworker where I used to work also used it. Currently, it’s unrecognizable, so great, at least we don’t all smell the same.

Fresh, tinkling, and precious neutrality. It smells exactly like the name ‘cologne’ suggests: sparkling citrus freshness that brings joy, tones you up, and calms you. All at once in a splash that’s a pure pleasure to apply. It has lots of bright citrus and a bit of fruitiness too, covered by a very soft, veiled aquatic layer. Its price allows you to use it in large quantities, which is why it’s a cool cologne. One of the best friends for hot days and for anyone, any time of year. Agua de Luna is a universal cologne.

Fresh, tinkling, and lovely neutrality. Dry down smells like the name ‘cologne’: a sparkling citrus freshness that brings joy, tonifies, and calms. All at once in a satisfying splash. Lots of bright citrus and a touch of fruit, with a soft aquatic layer. The price allows you to use it liberally; it’s a cologne that’s a hit. For hot days, one of the best friends, and for anyone at any time. Luna Water is a universal cologne.

I have the vintage Agua de Luna (I don’t know if it’s the first or second version), but I swear the modern reformulated one (and in my opinion, a bit ruined) is neither the same nor better, as usually happens :_(. What I perceive most are intense and long-lasting aquatic notes, especially for an eau de toilette. And a faint sweetness from some white flowers, a distant freshness of sweet fruit, but the composition is very refined; ‘Luna Water’ fits perfectly, as if it suggested water with light, clean, ethereal aromas without anything harsh. However, it lasts, and most importantly, it’s unique (I don’t know anything that smells similar). These notes aren’t easily identifiable, yet I tried the current version and it’s flatter and simpler; it doesn’t make you roll your eyes like the original Puig version did. I make a second plea to Antonio Puig: please stop reformulating, reselling, and discontinuing :___. Edit: I’m seeing some votes saying it’s similar to Puig’s Azur. Hello? Are noses working here? It doesn’t resemble it at all; it’s from the same era, but that’s it. Anyone trusts the ‘similarities’ here :/

This fragrance, along with others like Puzzle, Donna, or Colours by Margaret Astor, was part of my small initial collection. Moreover, they all have the ability to wake up the happiest memories of an era. I bought Agua de Luna with the small allowance my parents gave me and enjoyed it immensely. It’s a fragrance that makes me feel very good, particularly. It’s a simple EDT that sometimes feels aquatic, other times citrusy, other times herbal, and other times fruity. In the latest version, I noticed they’ve highlighted the watermelon note more, perhaps that’s why I perceive it as sweeter, a nuance like ripe fruit. For an EDT, it has good sillage, and its longevity doesn’t exceed 5 hours, but given the price, you can reapply it without hesitation.

Agua de Luna has a fresh, sparkling fragrance, subtle, a bit shy, and cheerful, ideal for the hottest summer days. I don’t detect any watermelon or tangerine notes. The only downside is that on my skin, it practically doesn’t last at all, although since it’s cheap, you can reapply it without fear.

Brings back great memories and feelings, like coming home. It was heavily advertised on TV in Spain with a woman bathing in a lunar crater, and my little girl absolutely loved it. I saw it in perfumeries at every supermarket and drugstore. It’s pretty, fresh, and super budget-friendly. Perfect for work in the summer—unpretentious and incredibly refreshing. It lifts your spirits. I love that it’s not a spray; it’s the classic bottle with a nozzle and screw cap for direct application. Another nostalgic touch I adore.

This is a perfume that brings back good memories and good feelings. It’s like coming home. I remember they advertised it quite a bit on TV here in Spain with the ad of the woman bathing in a lunar crater, and I, who was a little girl at the time, loved it. And I remember seeing it, of course, in the perfume section of all supermarkets, drugstores, and perfumeries my whole life. It’s a pretty, fresh, and super-affordable cologne. It’s perfect for wearing to work on a summer day, without many pretensions, and it’s very refreshing. It brings joy when you smell it. A detail I love (at least from the bottle I have) is that it’s not a spray. It’s the classic perfume bottle with the nozzle and screw cap that you directly splash onto your skin. Another point of nostalgic charm for this cologne.

A super-fresh cologne that lasts on skin and clothes. Its aroma is quite fruity with watermelon, citrus, and floral notes.

A perfect cologne for summer days. It’s fresh and subtle, a pity it doesn’t last long on skin (though for the price, you can’t ask for more).

Smells amazing, fresh, and feminine, with a strong watermelon vibe. Perfect for hot weather or to refresh after a shower. I share it with my two-year-old daughter; it reminds me of Dana Sparkles, the first little girls’ perfume of my generation in Spain. It doesn’t last long as an EDP, so I apply it multiple times on clothes. Very budget-friendly. I recommend it if you’re looking for something cool and invigorating without any pretensions.

Smells amazing—fresh, feminine, and very watermelon-forward. Perfect for hot weather or to keep that post-shower freshness going. I share it with my two-year-old; it reminds me of Dana’s Sparkles, the first girls’ perfume of my generation in Spain. As an EDP, it doesn’t last long on skin, so I apply it multiple times on clothes. Super affordable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fresh, uplifting, and unpretentious.

I get one every Christmas, and I don’t complain, haha. I use it a lot. Key notes: apple, bergamot, watermelon, and aquatic. It’s fresh, clean, youthful, unobtrusive, cheerful, and casual. Works all year round, lasts about 3 hours on skin. Smells like Herbal Essences shampoo, fresh fruits, and flowers. No excuse not to smell good this summer; it’s accessible for everyone and any age.
