  Amanu is woody, but the woods stay in the background, letting that standout blood orange take center stage: fresh without being sharp, with a sweet touch and neroli-like floral nuances thanks to the jasmine. The result feels very natural and well-executed. There’s a green facet from galbanum that enhances the citrus and brings out the scent of leaves, while the cedar in the heart notes makes it smell like the trunk. The musky drydown locks in that woody character until the end, adding a mossy, slightly damp vibe. The quality and blend are good. Longevity is decent, not excellent, and projection is low, making it ideal for hot days. I would have loved more sillage. The effect is like smelling an entire orange tree: first the fruit, then the leaves, and finally the bark and roots—very realistic. Rating: 6
