  First off, I’ll list the notes because they’re very brief on Fragrantica. Top: Bergamot, Aldehyde, Ozone, Galbanum, oriental notes, Saffron, Cipriol, Rose, and Jasmine. Heart: Jasmine, Ylang-ylang, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Violet, Heliotrope, Brazilian Rosewood, and oriental notes. Base: Cedar, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Vetiver, Guaiac, Agarwood, and oriental notes. It’s undoubtedly the most complex and strange perfume I’ve ever tried. Its aroma is unique; there’s hardly anything similar on the market; it’s one of those you memorize the scent of, smell it anywhere, and you know it’s him. Unique and magnificent. I’m clarifying that I use the oil version with a glass stick; although it’s the same fragrance as the alcohol version, intensity, longevity, and sillage can vary. The opening is very strong; you have to wait a few seconds for it to settle; then you perceive a strongly citrusy and spicy floral note (the perfume is oil, alcohol-free, so that sensation comes from the ozone, which I don’t know how it smells but it must be related; luckily it doesn’t last long and reveals a very complex floral bouquet, with endless aromas and a strange but pleasant smoky hint that I really liked. Then the flowers fade and the woods emerge, but not powerful, rather subtle and loaded with complex nuances. The final dry-down is beautiful, a fine floral line over sweet and creamy woods. The truth is, I’m not sure if I described it well, because it’s one of those you smell and every time you notice something different, hence why I say it’s complex. Longevity is very good; after 10 hours, it was still there; the sillage is big, though I notice that pulse and body heat influence it. Yesterday afternoon I got left behind and had to run to catch up with some friends; my pulse sped up and you can’t imagine how much it radiated, it seemed freshly applied. Totally unisex fragrance, for cold climates and use at night or day depending on preference. Recommended for those seeking perfumes away from current trends.

  I’m a huge fan of oriental scents, and this fragrance was one of the first I bought from this house; it captivated me instantly: fresh, woody, floral, and balsamic… mysterious and different. Since it’s unisex, I asked my husband to try it, and he was surprised: on him, it opened up with enchanting flowers, while on my skin, it has more masculine and balsamic notes. But with autumn, Qamar on my skin opened up just like on his: flowers, warmth, and depth. Plus, it pairs amazingly with lighter perfumes. I really appreciate it!

  Ugh! Maybe it’s this unbearable heat, but it smells super masculine, nothing unisex. Reminds me of old-school men’s perfumes, a bit dated. Sorry for the criticism, but it completely disappointed me; the bottle is gorgeous, though it’s one of the few oils I haven’t liked.
