Kyoto Jazz by LAYR, launched in 2023 for women and men, opens with matcha tea, yuzu, pear and bergamot, framed by green and ozonic notes, cardamom and cocoa.
The heart blends ylang-ylang, violet, orange blossom, lily of the valley, black currant and pineapple with beeswax, settling into musk, sandalwood, amber and iris with cashmere wood, vanilla, patchouli, moss and labdanum.
The opening feels crisp and airy, with matcha giving a lightly bitter green edge. Yuzu and bergamot lift, pear adds juicy roundness, and the ozonic notes keep everything clean.
Cardamom brings a cool aromatic spark, while cocoa stays in the background as texture rather than sweetness. The green accord stays sharp without turning classic citrus.
In the middle, the florals unfold in layers: creamy ylang-ylang, powdery violet, bright orange blossom and fresh lily of the valley. Black currant and pineapple add a fruity lift that keeps the bouquet from feeling soapy.
Beeswax is the soft connector. Honeyed, smooth and faintly animalic, it links the white and yellow flowers to the base and leaves a waxy, velvety skin feel.
The drydown is woody and ambered, with creamy sandalwood, cashmere wood, powdery iris and amber. Vanilla, patchouli, moss and labdanum support gently, and musk extends a clean, cozy trail.
