Past & Present by The Dua Brand is a unisex woody-spicy fragrance launched in 2025. It was composed by perfumer Mahsam Raza.
The concept centers on balance: bright citrus and herbal freshness set against a deeper base of resins, woods, and amber.
The opening pairs bergamot and grapefruit with rosemary and olibanum incense. Citrus brings lift, rosemary adds an aromatic edge, and the incense lends early depth without heaviness.
The heart brings together carnation, nutmeg, cinnamon, and rose. Spice is clearly in focus here, but the floral and rosy facets keep it smooth and rounded rather than dry.
The drydown rests on myrrh, vetiver, guaiac wood, and amber. Myrrh extends the resinous thread, vetiver and guaiac shape the woody core, and amber adds a warm, enveloping finish.
Across the wear, the scent moves from fresh-spicy, aromatic, and citrusy accords toward a warmer register of amber, woods, and cinnamon, supported by floral and rose touches. The shift feels gradual and well blended.
