Castley is a full-on classic: masculine, clean, and impeccably structured. From the very first moment, it exudes sober elegance, achieving a fine balance between freshness and wood without slipping into cliché. It doesn’t aim to surprise or break the mold, but rather to offer something safe and proper, with that touch of a modern, polished man who doesn’t need exaggerations. On my skin, it feels delicate and contained; the projection isn’t powerful and softens over time. It didn’t impress me with strength or dramatic evolution, but with its coherence. In short, I liked it: it’s elegant, usable, and consistent, though it didn’t give me that “I need this now” feeling other scents do. Rating: 4.1/5
Happy New Year to everyone! I liked this fragrance, but they were right to say it lacked punch. I got to work and found the ultimate solution: I apply the original first, then layer it with ‘King’s Warhorse’ by DUA. The result is a delicious scent; the ginger and pepper take center stage, preventing the agarwood from dominating and leaving the fragrance fresher. Longevity jumps to 10-12 hours with excellent projection. It performed flawlessly, and I’m so pleased that I’m ordering two more bottles of DUA to age while my original lasts. Simply delicious! Hope this advice helps.
Why review a scent that projects nothing? I bought it blind and regret it. After 30 minutes, it’s completely undetectable. Threw the money away.
Trying Castley, I noticed Parfums de Marly applied their winning formula again: a niche with a soul that’s totally mainstream. From the start, citrus and black pepper notes reminded me of Sedley, before revealing nuances that evoke Bois Impérial and certain nods to LV’s Imagination. The best part is that it’s not a copy, but an intelligent blend of the best of all three. The result is fresh, spicy, slightly woody, easy to love, and very versatile. On my skin, it lasts between 6 and 8 hours with moderate projection, enough to make people ask what you’re wearing, without being a ‘beast mode’. For me, it’s a swiss army knife: works for any occasion, doesn’t cloy, and always adds up. The positives are how easy it is to wear and its elegant design; the negatives are that it’s not revolutionary and the price might seem high for something so safe. It’s a strategic launch, easy to love, and ready to be a hit. If you’re looking for versatility and confidence, it’s a great choice.

My first major disappointment with PDM. After Layton, Althair, and Perseus, they threw me into the deep end with Castley and pfffff. Not fresh or citrusy at all, just pepper and more pepper. They don’t always get it right. I don’t understand why people compare it to LV’s Imagination.
