I tested this head-to-head against Amouage Reflection Man and Killer Oud Revolution by Paris Corner is an incredibly close match, especially in the dry-down. At first, the rosemary here feels wilder and sharper, whereas the Amouage softens it with its orange blossom and jasmine. By the 30-45 minute mark, the similarity is brutal; this Killer Oud manages to balance out with its cedar and sandalwood. It’s a slightly flatter scent with less projection and longevity, but for the price, it’s a 10/10 buy if you’re looking for clean, formal fragrances. If Dior or Chanel released this, they’d charge you 125-150€ and you’d be blown away. It passes perfectly as a designer scent at a cost 3 or 4 times lower.
Tested side-by-side with Amouage Reflection: 85% similar in the opening and 95-98% in the dry-down. I usually don’t give numbers since they’re relative, but that’s what I’m noticing. In the opening, this Killer Oud has a note the Reflection lacks; I checked the notes and it doesn’t quite add up, but it’s nothing unpleasant. It’s a clean, soapy white floral at 100%, just like the Amouage. After 5 minutes, they’re indistinguishable. Great work by Paris Corner, nothing to envy from the Reflection. Trust me, you can buy this blind. The difference is that in the Amouage, the floral fades and the iris with sandalwood rises, leaving that impeccable clean laundry and detergent vibe. Here, the floral lingers longer, I don’t really detect the sandalwood, but it gives the same clean energy. Just like with some synthetic-sounding Arabic clones, there’s nothing wrong here. I recommend it for the office or with a white suit. It projects cleanliness; it’s the delicate, well-groomed man, not the alpha male. Don’t be an idiot and save yourself some money.
